4.0 out of 5 stars Works better than other fiber and IBS products
This product is good for IBS symptoms, and works better than the other fiber supplements, which ironically can aggravate symptoms. Just follow the instructions, whether starting from scratch or transitioning from another supplement, and you should be fine. I would recommend if you are just starting to use this product to purchase only the refillable canister size first,...

3.0 out of 5 stars Better than most.
I have been taking it for a few weeks and there is a little gas sometimes with it but not compared to if i have other big name brand fibers. Those make me really bad. This does not upset my stomach. But one thing i noticed is it does NOT dissolve easily in cold water or juice as it claims. That's pretty much the only complaint though. It is totally flavorless which i like...

4.0 out of 5 stars Works better than other fiber and IBS products, January 6, 2010
This review is from: Heather's Tummy Fiber KIT ~ Organic Acacia Senegal CAN AND POUCH for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (Health and Beauty)
This product is good for IBS symptoms, and works better than the other fiber supplements, which ironically can aggravate symptoms. Just follow the instructions, whether starting from scratch or transitioning from another supplement, and you should be fine. I would recommend if you are just starting to use this product to purchase only the refillable canister size first, and then if it works for you, get multiple pouches at a time from Amazon (for free shipping savings vs purchasing from Heather's site). It seems pricey, but frankly, it's worth it to me!

It does sometimes clump, but it is truly flavorless, not gritty, and doesn't thicken liquid, so its not bad at all -- just don't look at the floaters/clumps if they occur in your drink. It seems to help if I have a thinner, even layer of it in the glass (vs a large *lump*), then add an ounce or two of liquid, swish it around until its all moistened, and then add the rest of the liquid. I break each dose up into two smaller drinks (i.e., drink 4-5 oz with a small amount of the fiber, then repeat immediately afterwords) to avoid clumping. Sometimes, you just have to stir, stir, stir briskly for a full minute. It won't work in my peppermint/fennel tea (hot liquid makes it clump to the point I can't break it up), but other than that, it works well.

You can also bake with it and sprinkle it on warm, moist foods to keep your system full of soluble fiber throughout the day. I keep a 4 oz container of it at work to use during lunch to boost my soluble fiber intake. Since its in a clear container, no one knows what it is and I can keep it in sight so I don't forget.

I also drink a glass of water with it first thing in the morning or when I haven't eaten for several hours--it seems to help, along with following Heather's tips on diet (check out her books) and her peppermint/fennel teas. The peppermint caps and hypnosis CDs never helped me (nor IBS Advantage), but this product seems to make a difference.

Everything I've read on Acacia Senegal indicates a lack of side effects from prolonged use, but I would still mention its use to any health professionals.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great -- and without the gas, August 31, 2006

Tummy Fiber is one of the few dietary fibers that actually works for my constipation -- and that also does *not* create gas and bloating (due to fermenting) in my lower intestines. It may not be cheap, but it took me two months of testing other brands and fiber types (since my normal brand, Citrucel, was taken off the market), to find this particular combination of efficacy and lack of side effects (gas). The taste is somewhat bland, so I like to add a few packets of Crystal Light lemonade drink powder to perk up the taste. Another positive aspect of Tummy Fiber is that it is non-viscous, so it doesn't feel like you're swallowing a glassful of liquid goo!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Supplemental Fiber Ever, September 12, 2008
This review is from: Heather's Tummy Fiber KIT ~ Organic Acacia Senegal CAN AND POUCH for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (Health and Beauty)
Although I don't suffer from IBS, I do have thyroid disease and the stomach problems that sometimes go along with it. I have tried psyllium but found it too harsh and unpleasant to drink. Organic acacia powder dissolves quickly, is tasteless and very easy to drink in a glass of water. I take this in addition to fruits, veggies, whole grains, etc, as well as a probiotic supplement, so I don't rely on this alone to keep my system healthy and regular. But after using this daily for over a year I can definitely say that the addition of acacia powder has significantly improved any stomach problems that may arise. I've recommended this to friends and relatives of all ages, and everyone that has consistently used it is very satisfied with the results. Start with small doses and gradually build up. To see lasting results you must give it time and remember to actually take the acacia powder every day. I take a tablespoon in the morning and a tablespoon at night, but you may require more or less. Adjust your intake and experiment with what works best for you. Check out Heather's website for more details.

Ever since trying this product I am sold on its value. Not only is it priced right, but the good results I have had using it to help my IBS is priceless. Thanks Heather, for making this available to all sufferers of this malady. I like the idea that it's organic, also, and that it does what it says it will do.

My doctor's never diagnosed me with IBS, even though for years I had all of the symptoms. I was fed up with all the prescriptions that my doctors gave me, none of them helped and most of them made me worse, so I decided to order Heather's products. I was amazed how easy the product dissolved once I discovered that room temperature fruit juice, like apple or orange juice in a shaker jar worked best for dissolving the power. This is one of the best decisions that I've made for my health, after 2 weeks of using it regularly, I no longer experience the horrible stomach cramps and back and forth constipation and diarrhea episodes. Thanks so much to Amazon for having the product available, so I can earn bucks using the Chase card.

It's difficult to review a product that helps you poop and not sound gross. Still I try.

This is the best and "most soluble"(?) fiber I've found. Recommended by my naturopath and worth it.
Save room in the glass so you can stir vigorously but it's truly super easy to make a drink that's easy to get down. It is a "non-event" to drink this... not like the gloopy/gross drinks I was trying to consume before finding this. (I've seen other reviews say it's not dissolving for them... I had that problem too and it was simply not stirring fast/long enough (5-10 seconds?). It WILL dissolve completely so if you're having issues (for some reason) don't give up. I've only done cold drinks which is what other reviews have reported problems with.

The results are awesome - that's about as much as I'll say without being graphic! It didn't over-stimulate anything either.

As a bonus: The sellers included some free samples of their other products which were equally awesome and of high quality.

I will be buying more but I'm still on the canister and haven't needed to refill yet (lasts long time though I only take it once in the morning as it suggests that some may need it more than that).

Order was processed and shipped fast without issue and shipping packaging was perfectly adequate for the non-breakable nature of the products.

If you WANT or NEED something like this you won't be disappointed in this product at all. (Or at least I'd be shocked)

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Product Best Value Soluble Fiber, July 3, 2007

This review is from: Heather's Tummy Fiber KIT ~ Organic Acacia Senegal CAN AND POUCH for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (Health and Beauty)
I tried two brands of soluble fiber before I bought Heather's Tummy Fiber. I wish I had bought Heather's first. Four to six teaspoons a day of Heather's Tummy Fiber gives me no bloating, no pain, no gas. The fiber dissolves easily in cold juice. If any powder remains at the bottom of my glass after drinking the liquid soon after mixing, it is still finely smooth, and because it is tasteless, it is easily swallowed with the water I use to rinse my glass.

And I am having good results with Heather's Tummy Fiber as a digestive aid product. I am also using Heather's Tummy Fiber to increase my soluble fiber intake to lower my high cholesterol. It was high: I took Lipitor, had bad side effects from Lipitor, so quit taking Lipitor. And I am not overweight, never ate many high fat foods; likely a genetic factor. So, I am saying I hope Heather's Tummy Fiber helps me in many ways.
