Probably the best IBS solution out there, March 26, 2009
This review is from: Heather's Tummy Tamers-Peppermint Oil Capsules, 180ct (2 Pack) (Health and Beauty)
These little capsules work wonders. I'd tried a few different supplements, exclusionary diets, and even a prescription antispasmodic, but these have proven to be more effective for my IBS than anything else. However, my case of IBS-D is pretty bad and on some days I have to take more than 3 in order to tame my feisty bowels. But these things really do work well and I highly recommend them! That said, I've found that also taking a daily probiotics supplement helps too, and would recommend the same to anyone with IBS. Also, the one downside to taking these is that sometimes (not too often) the enteric coating doesn't seem to hold up long enough and yeah... it winds up releasing the peppermint in your stomach or something cuz you wind up burping peppermint for a half hour.

Worked for me!, December 16, 2008
This review is from: Heather's Tummy Tamers-Peppermint Oil Capsules, 180ct (2 Pack) (Health and Beauty)
Heather's Tummy Tamers-Peppermint Oil Capsules, 180ct (2 Pack)My stomach has bothered me for a few years and there was an urgency that couldn't be denied. Finally I read an article on Irritable Bowel Syndrome that fit my symptoms to a T. Not long ago CNN had an article about low cost treatments for IBS. The thing they said worked the best (behind psyllium fiber and a cheap drug) was peppermint oil but it needed more research. So I did a little digging and found they were talking about enteric coated peppermint oil. That's how I found Heather's Tummy Tamer - Peppermint Oil Capsules. I've been taking one a day since they arrived about a month ago and the change has been truly amazing! My kids no longer say "Mom! Is that your stomach?" and I have not had the urgency I used to. They've really made a difference for me. The only down side is that there are times when I have a peppermint taste in my mouth. I solved that by taking the capsule before I go to bed. This product worked for me and I can honestly say I'll be taking these for a very long time. Beats the alternative.

Works, but there are drawbacks, May 15, 2009
This review is from: Heather's Tummy Tamers-Peppermint Oil Capsules, 180ct (2 Pack) (Health and Beauty)
I do like these pills. I've been taking them for about a week now, and I feel great now. No abdominal cramps. My IBS is now in control. However, if you don't take it on a completely empty stomach, it can give you indigestion. Really bad indigestion. I ended up burping peppermint for hours, and it was painful heartburn. Since my stomach is hardly ever empty, I just take a pepcid along with it and it works out fine. For anyone with IBS, I would recommend this.
