Best Bryan Adams cover song ever,
By A Customer
This review is from: Heaven (Audio CD)
I heard this song on the radio and realized how great it is. I used to own Bryan Adams' album from 1984, you know the one with "Summer of 69," and this song, "Heaven." This techno guy did a great cover of it to make it appropriate as a dance song for current youth.

Fabulous song!,

I heard this song on the radio when it first came and I liked it then but I didn't buy the single or the album then. However it's real impact, only made a real impression on me when I saw the series "Cold Case" on TV, the episode was called "FLY AWAY" and the song was used during the last six or so minutes of the program. I went hot and cold as I listened to the song and absorbed its powerful words and use of a strong voice combined with a soft piano tempo in the background. I watched and listened totally mesmerised as a tragic scene unfold as a young girl realised she is the killer of her small daughter in a tragic misunderstanding. Heaven is an amazing song when you listen to it for the first time without watching "FLY AWAY" but its evocative use in this series has given it new meaning for me. The tune will go around and around in your head long after you have put the CD away or finish watching the above episode, it is haunting, compelling, melodious, and so very beautiful. I would advise you to hear it first and then see the episode of Cold Case I am talking about. The most poignant part of the story for me was when the African American Pizza Boy who had tried to help the girl and her daughter when they were living in poverty saw her leave the apartment where the tragedy of her daughter's death took place and they look at each other for the first time in two years, and Heaven is playing in the background and you hear the words, "I'm finding it hard to believe I'm in Heaven," and you see them as they were yesterday and how they are today; both inexplicably changed by the events of two years ago. Heaven makes this episode stand out in a unique musical way that I would have never thought was possible. The song is so versatile, so beautiful and so very memorable. I've got the CD single and the ring tone on my cell phone now! I have to say that Heaven is quite simply a fabulous song that it is certainly worthy of metaphorical standing ovation.

best,
By A Customer
This review is from: Heaven (Audio CD)
this song is BY FAR the best song i've heard. its great dance music and i love every part of it! i think the original one made by that one guy (in 1988 or something) too plain and slow. if u buy it, listen to the original mix, the extended mix, and the candlelight mix (my favorites).

a big disappointment,

I was really disappointed when I bought the single of DJ Sammy's Heaven. I expected the remixes to have different sounds which they do, but not in the same way it is in the Candlelight Remix which wasn't on the CD. So the only song I liked on the whole CD was the original radio version of Heaven. I was really disappointed with all the rest, but I love the Heaven and Candlelight remix that are on the album.

The Artist that sings - Heaven,

Heaven - a remake of Bryan Adams popular 1985 Pop Hit, is actually sung by a beautiful young Dutch artist by the name of Dominique van Hulst. She is featured in the song's video of which is also on the Heaven - CD. "Do" has several hit songs in the Netherlands and is very well known in Europe. She has had several CD-Singles. Her debut CD simply titled "Do", and a new release "Follow Me" is worth the trouble finding. I have purchased her CDs through on-line music stores found in the United Kingdom. Her voice is simply beautiful and her CDs are nothing less than awesome.

GREAT CANDLELIGHT REMIX,
By guat (DB, FL, USA) - See all my reviews

Bryan Adams version of Heaven is truly great... But then so is the CandleLight remix of the same track by DJ Sammy & Yanou.. Both offer the same uplifting feel.. however, i would NOT recommend the other dance remixes... as such, save some money and just download the candlelight remix from the net....

well I loved the brian adams version, yes I graduated HS in 1985 and this remake is great. The spirit of the song wasn't violated, and the dance beat really works. Thanks for honoring the original while remaking it for today.
