Book Description

Economies weaken and strengthen with regularity - Unemployment rates rise and fall - Personal wealth comes and goes. Yet, there are always happy people and there are always unhappy people.

Timothy has observed that more and more people are feeling stuck, frustrated, and wanting more from their lives.

This trend is found not only in the United States. The recent economic crisis has created a plenitude of unhappy people. So what is the solution?

As human beings, we all share the desire for happiness and meaning in our lives. Heaven on Earth simply shows you how to create powerful results by using tools that are already within you.

In Heaven on Earth Timothy uncovers simple tools and techniques that, once applied, will enable readers to ride through life's obstacles on a deep and abiding source of inner peace. You can defeat day-to-day depression, discouragement, anxiety, anger, or just an ordinary bad mood. It is not easy, but it is simpler than you think.

It is also a practical, empowering, and easy-to-follow workbook. By combining happiness strategies, exercises in new ways of thinking, and quizzes for understanding your individuality, you will realize your innate potential for joy and ways to sustain it in your life.

These timeless principles apply to everyone, from the pending graduate to the seasoned business professional - from the time-starved parent and weary pastor to the restless entrepreneur.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Handbook For Smiling So Very Big! August 3, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
It wasn't too long ago someone told me I was dreaming my life away. Days later those words rang through my mind. I began to think about what that person saw that I didn't. It wasn't that I felt depressed. I'm very content and happy with where I'm at in life. However, I do dream of "better days."

The Power of Happiness is a well worded handbook breaking down happiness and what exactly that means. One story, among so many amazing stories in this guide, particularly stood out for me. It was about a young couple who had nothing but each other. They moved to Europe on a whim. They had no money; barely made ends meet. As they grew, some things changed, many remained the same. For that particular couple is was about each other. About their adventure. About their struggle. That's how they lived a life of happiness.

Through powerful stories, well documented facts, delightful quotes the author does a great job at making his case. But what really put me over the edge was how he encouraged me to interact with the "lesson." Thank you for making it my own and not just a boring lecture.

Highly recommended for all who are just dreaming their life away.

5.0 out of 5 stars Insightful book and a very quick read. August 4, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I bought this book on a whim, during a time of not-so-happiness (my cat had run away and was subsequently hit by a car), and boy am I glad I did. I started reading it at around noon on the day I bought it, without much expectation, and before I knew it I was around 75% done. I wound up finishing this well-researched, entertainingly sprinkled-with-quotes book the next day.

Like I said, I'm very happy to have stumbled upon this book. It's kind of given me a renewed sense of optimism and sense that happiness is truly attainable for everyone. It's a very quick read and well worth it, in my humble opinion. I'm looking forward to any future works the author puts out, and would recommend this book to any of my friends, happy and unhappy alike.

3.0 out of 5 stars I have mixed feelings about this book... September 3, 2012
By Reese
Format:Kindle Edition
Wow! What do you say when you get a book with a title like that! Everyone wants to be happy, don't they? Unfortunately not everyone is happy. Happiness can be elusive. And really, what is happiness? Is it a result of our actions? Our emotions? Can it be as a result of both our actions and emotions? In "The Power of Happiness" author Timothy McKinney seeks to help us learn how to become happy people.

"The Power of Happiness" is separated into three easy to read parts covering the definition of happiness, determining if you are really happy, and how to be happy. Through the use of vast amounts of controlled research, life examples, quotes at the beginning of each chapter, charts and graphs, questionnaires and even the suggestion of the use of certain foods and physical/mental exercise, along with a touch of humor to get the point across, Mr. McKinney has made this book an excellent tool for achievement of and recognition of one's personal happiness. There are even questions and lists to be completed in some of the later chapters.

There are so many quotes from this book I would like to share, but I'll settle on just one:

"The secret to lifelong happiness is to really understand that Life Isn't Supposed To Be Easy. It's not! Think about that for a moment. The VAST majority of our unhappiness comes from expecting things to be different than they are. We as humans are under the false impression that life is supposed to be easy and that when life isn't easy, there is something wrong." (pg. 59)

Although there was much in Mr. McKinney's book I liked and will personally use, I must admit I disagree with some of his points. Most importantly I disagree with "The Golden Key" of Emmet Fox from which Mr.

In my opinion, it's a great book with a lot of useful information that you can apply in your life. For sure, after reading it, you will end with a lot of next actions and things to try, like me. The most important thing I learned from Timothy's book is that life isn't supposed to be easy (Chapter 11). It sounds simple but I've never thought of it that way. I used to assumed that I was unlucky when some events happened in my life but that's not true. Life is not easy! So you can better enjoy the challenge of living assuming that it won't be easy and also practicing non-attachment.

I also found a relationship with "Pragmatic Thinking & Learning" by Andy Hunt. Both agree that you can rewire your brain ("Refactoring your wetware" in Andy's book). So if you want to be happier you should rewire your brain by changing your attitude and having happy thoughts. In such a way, your brain will rewire itself for happiness.

In conclusion, I highly recommend this book, it's easy to read and you won't stop because all the information is very interesting and useful for you life.
