5.0 out of 5 stars Best Album of 1999!
If you were disappointed with Our Little Secret and Expand Your Head and thought that the Lords of Acid were getting old, then you must get this cd. It proves that the Lords are full of the power that made them what they are. This cd is going to make people's ears perk up and listen. With the heavy beat cleverly coated with growling guitars, you can't keep your feet...

3.0 out of 5 stars What this is and why you should/shouldn't buy it.
This has been brought up before, I'm sure, but here goes.

A couple of years ago, there was a limited edition release available only through the LOA website. This was a collection of unreleased material, alternate versions, and B-sides. There were only 1,000 (I think) available, and they went REALLY, REALLY fast. Due to continued demand, the Lords decided to take pity...

Finally, the Lords have released a album that lives up to and SURPASSES Lust. If you were able to get the copy of Pragamatic with the bonus cd you had a preview to this cd. GO GET THIS CD!

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite Lords of Acid CD., November 17, 1999

Frankly, this is a superb CD. It showcases the Lords' wide-ranging talents. My favorite LoA song is also on this CD - Robotlove. It is hard to compare it to other LoA releases, but if I were forced to, I would say the style generally resembles that of "Lust". I highly recommend this CD.

This has been brought up before, I'm sure, but here goes.

A couple of years ago, there was a limited edition release available only through the LOA website. This was a collection of unreleased material, alternate versions, and B-sides. There were only 1,000 (I think) available, and they went REALLY, REALLY fast. Due to continued demand, the Lords decided to take pity on us and re-release the disc domestically a year later (I'm assuming it was authorized). This is that disc.

If you really like Praga Khan (i.e. if you can name most of his projects INCLUDING THE METAL BAND...), you probably already have this. It's really more of a completist's thing than a fully realized album. If you mainly like the first two albums (or mainly the first one), this is probably not for you...although I would like to suggest that it's worth it for "Don't Kill For Love" (previously released on the CRABLOUSE maxi single). All that twisted techno and then...A COUNTRY SONG!?!?!?!? I hurt myself laughing.

I think that's everything.

4.0 out of 5 stars BACK ON TRACK...., January 9, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Heaven Is an Orgasm (Audio CD)
While it cannot compare to "Lust," this is a worthy effort from LoA. Several tracks are off cue for the Lords or are so completely bizarre that listening is a chore - including "Don't Kill for Love," "Orchestral Sinsations," and the ballad "Feel So Alive." However, the sex and substance abuse theme lyrics of "She and Mr. Jones," "Acid Queen," and "Robot Love," along with the true techno rhythms of "Undress and Possess" prove that the Lords still can produce what their fans expect. This is not a must buy, but a good buy for LoA fans.

Man, I still love Voodoo-U and Our Little Secret, but this album is just terrible. It's boring, repetitive, and unoriginal. Maybe the LOA just got burnt on the same old stuff but thought they would lose their audience if they changed at all. At least their previous albums were fun to listen to and were useful for driving away all prudish people in the general area. I've listened to this album five times and it'll probably never see a CD player's laser again.

2.0 out of 5 stars Didn't like at first, now one of my favorites!, February 22, 2003

Ignore the 2 star rating, this is a 4-star album bare minimum. I had written this review a long, lone time ago (years) and I really didn't like this at first, but it grew on me. It's now one of my favorite albums by the Lords!

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent, July 9, 2000
This review is from: Heaven Is an Orgasm (Audio CD)
Heaven is an Orgasm is the Lords most recent offering. Originally a limited printing offering, they were nice enough to re-release it to the public. While not near the genius of Lust, this album is good Lords of Acid music. If you like the Lords, get this CD, if you don't know them, start with Lust and then you will be hooked.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not their best, February 12, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Heaven Is an Orgasm (Audio CD)
Okay, no matter what the Lord will always ROCK! This is my least favorite of all their albums. I was quite dissapointed with the whole album. It's a keeper. But, just for my collection. I probably played this CD 2 times in the past 4 years.

Try Voodoo U or Greatest T*ts 1st... Unless you are a die hard fan like me. You still need this for the complete collection.

It's far from bad, but not as good as all their other offerings.

3.0 out of 5 stars A different side of acid, June 13, 2007
By
This review is from: Heaven Is an Orgasm (Audio CD)
This is a very interesting album. This is a very different LOA album for most of the fans. It takes a little time to get used to. It has some really good tracks like "Don't Kill for Love", "Undress and Possess", and the alternate version of "She and Mr. Jones". However you can also find these songs in other LOA or Praga Khan CD's. Also the Instrumental track #6 is superbly awesome and I just wish it was a little longer. Give it a try if you like the Lords.
