3.0 out of 5 stars Lackluster storyline and slow to start storyline!
My bookclub had us read this book. I haven't read A PREACHER'S PASSION so I never connected to the characters in this book. The book was good, but it didn't get good until around page 120--that is way tooo long for a book to jump off.

Another problem I had with this book is that everything wrapped up into a neat and tidy little bow--life is not like that...

5.0 out of 5 stars Ms. Lovely is the hottest thing on the shelf right now., July 29, 2009
This review is from: Heaven Right Here (Paperback)
There is no competition when it comes to literature in this genre. Ms.Lovely wins hands down with the "Hallelujah Love" series. You can expect no less in Heaven Right Here, the fourth installment of the series. Once again Ms. Lovely depicts real Christians that love God and deal with life at the same time. Ms. Lovely doesn't right about self righteous characters that readers can't relate to. Instead she allows readers to see something in each character that they can relate too. She shows the fact the you can love God, love life, but steal have to deal with life and situations that might be judged as unchristian. There's baby mama drama, insecurities, and self discovery. Things we all have to deal with in life. If you love God and love good reading then I suggest you grab Sex in the Santuary and continue from there...See you at the end of Heaven Right Here. Ms. Lovely I look forward to Rev. Feel Good.

4.0 out of 5 stars Perhaps too much Heaven right here?, January 13, 2010
This review is from: Heaven Right Here (Paperback)
The drama of church folks continues in the fourth series of the Hallelujah love books. They each stand alone but for this one it helps to read all the other books first. Darius/Stacy/Bo are back with their baby momma, homosexuality, denial issues. Frieda, the honorary non Christian in the series continues to look for sex in all the wrong places but does not yet know it. This book reveals the hurt behind her frisky attitude. Hope and Cy, two years married and trying for a baby, is Hope too obsessed with this venture, can she relax and just wait on the Lord or will she let jealousy of Millicent, her nemesis who is happily married with her own son get in the way? As much as I love this series it seems to give the impression that a woman is not happy unless she is an educated professional, wears designer clothes, lives in a nice home and is happily married. Perhaps that is the problem with church folks too busy being middle class and wealthy? No one outside this circle features in the series at all unless they are a crazy stalker as in A Preachers Passion.

4.0 out of 5 stars What Goes Around, Comes Around, October 23, 2009
This review is from: Heaven Right Here (Paperback)

Heaven Right Here is Lutishia Lovely's next installment in the Kingdom Citizens' Christian Center series. Everyone is at war. Stacy is glowing after giving birth to Darius Jr. and she cannot imagine her life without him. She still does not understand how his father could just walk away from her and she wages war against him and his partner. Hope battles with her inner demands as she watches her husband, Cy, befriend the husband of her nemesis, Millicent. Frieda finds a new man who knows how to rock her world. She later learns that maybe there is more to a relationship than sex.

Lovely brings a lot of drama, sex, and scandal with Heaven Right Here. Once again, I found portions of the story slow moving, predictable and some very funny. Many of the old characters, Pastor Montgomery and his wife, Vivian, and Tai and King Brooke, make appearances that added to the fun. Fans of Lovely will definitely enjoy this story.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Got 'Heaven Right Here' On Earth!, October 19, 2009
This review is from: Heaven Right Here (Paperback)
Stacy Gray was enjoying spending some time with her friends. One thing she was not expecting was to be served court papers from Darius Sr. suing for custody of their son Darius Jr. As far as Stacy was concerned, Darius Sr. had lost the right to be a father to their son when he chose his manager/lover Bo over her. Suddenly, Stacy and Darius soon realize it's time to be adults when a crazed fan threatens more than Darius' singing career. It's time for them to grow and be parents before it's too late.

Cy and Hope have tired for several years to have a baby, but with no luck. When Hope see her frenemy Millicent, jealously becomes inevitable. Hope finds out that Millicent has tried to rekindle her friendship with Cy, and she's not having that. As drama starts to brew, everyone prays that God will have mercy on their souls.

Lutishia Lovely has done it again with her fourth installment of this series. Heaven Right Here has drama, laughter, and you may even shed a few tears. While continuing with the same characters, there's never a dull moment. There's nothing repetitive about any of the characters, and they bring a new light to the story. Lovely tells how you can be the most faithful person and hold on to the Word of God, but you will have some real world problems that may seem like ungodly acts. She shows how we all have to live in this world, but we don't have to be of this world. Through it all, you just have to know that God is ALWAYS in control! Heaven Right Here is an excellent read!

4.0 out of 5 stars (RAW Rating: 3.5) - Heaven Right Here, September 1, 2009

Stacy Gray is without a man. Although her young son has an active father in his life, Stacy is angry and wants her man back. Darrius Sr. just wants to spend time with his son without a hassle but must work extra hard to stay in Stacy's good graces to continue his visits. But, the extra effort, trying to have a stress-free visit is more than Darrius can take.

While Stacy sulks, her friends are having problems of their own. Hope has married the man of her dreams but more than anything she wants to give him a child, especially after seeing his former girlfriend on a television show discussing her wonderful life as a new mother and wife. Seeing Millicent, who previously stalked her husband, only brings out the venom in Hope. Will Hope allow God to answer her prayers and remain faithful to Him or will she allow the devil to kill her spirit and cause nothing but drama in her marriage? Hope must find the strength and confidence to know that all is not lost when you have been blessed with a good man.

HEAVEN RIGHT HERE starts off slow but picks up in the middle. Lutishia Lovely has crafted another book in her Hallelujah series, unfortunately for this reader it was only an okay read. The book is filled with drama, but it was a little weird reading a story with a strong Christian theme with such strong sexual language. For those readers who enjoy baby momma drama and a freaky friend or two on the side I recommend this book.

I do not recommend this book to people who haven't read A PREACHER'S PASSION and I do not recommend this book for those who read books for escape.

Enjoyed this read as well as the others in this series. I truelly believe Ms Lovely is coming into her own w/christian fiction. I know for a fact that all of these scences can happen in churches and have happened. God save us all.

I enjoyed this one. The story is a page turner. I can't wait to read Heaven Forbid. This conglomerate of churches keep drama going. I was eager to read this one because I enjoyed Love like Hallelujah and Preacher's Passion. I was not disappointed, and you will not be either.
