What a Beautiful Story..., November 25, 2008
This review is from: Heaven Sent Husband (Love Inspired #298) (Mass Market Paperback)
This story is about a woman, Ketura, in which God speaks to and tells her a man she knew from high school will be her husband. Throughout the entire story God continues to speak to her, giving her new commandments that lead her closer to the "inconceivable" relationship God has planned for her.
This story is amazingly compelling, particularly since just about everything God asks her to do and tells her is hard to believe and very trying to her faith. We relate to the character as she deals with feeling "stupid" countless times throughout the book while dealing with a very real subject of possibly losing a patient she's grown fond of.
On the male side of the story, we as the reader, come to relate to Jared's growth as a Christian as he becomes aware of what he wants out of life and what he needs.
I was glued to the book the entire way and read it over a 5-6 hour period. I loved every page of it, particularly since I am going through similar trials in my life. But what Christian doesn't?
I can't say enough about this book. I recommend it to anyone--those new to the Christian faith and those who need to be renewed. You not only live the emotional journey of each character but you are taught some extremely valuable lessons in the process.
It's not a book that lectures but a book that guides. In my personal experience of the book, God gave me plenty of answers to my own personal troubles and is leading me closer to what he wants me to do in my life.
I'm going to buy this book. I loved it and want to remember it's beautiful imprint on my life. Thank you Gilbert Morris for writing it and thanks so much to the real life Ketura and Jared. Your story/testimony has given me strength to go on and renewed my faith in the wonders of God! Thanks to you too God. You're almighty awesome!

Men plan, God laughs, January 1, 2010
This review is from: Heaven Sent Husband (Love Inspired #298) (Mass Market Paperback)
Nicely written romance, based on a real-life couple, who are destined for each other. Ketura and Jared grew up together but didn't really click in high school. Now she's a committed Christian wanting to become an RN and go into the missionary field in India and Jared's an intern at Mercy Hospital who's dating Miss Texas (a former classmate, Lisa Glenn). Ketura begins to feel God calling her to get together with Jared, only she can't see how. It's a funny, sweet romance with a nice subplot about how looks aren't everything (Lisa is every bit as shallow as you'd expect a beauty pageant contestant to be) and how ugly duckings can become swans given time.

WAAAAYYYY TOOOOO SSSSLLLLLOOOOWWWWW, December 17, 2011
This review is from: Heaven Sent Husband (Love Inspired #298) (Mass Market Paperback)
I'm sorry. I got to page 75 or so and just could NOT read this book! I know this is a true story and everything, but I just couldn't force myself to "hang in there..." If someone can tell me it picks up the pace and gets better, I'll finish it. All I've read is that she wants a husband and God said to listen...
Just not interested :-(
