Wow! I read this book while facing the death of loved ones for the first time and it changed my life. I always knew the scriptures and promises of heaven as a Christian's real home, but Joni brings it into reality. Soon after diving into it's chapters, You too will long for your real home...and the fulfillment that will come only from being face to face with our Heavenly Father and Saviour Jesus Christ. Joni reminds us that Heaven is so very real, and so close to us. Heaven cannot be described in human terms, but she does her best to get our thoughts churning in the right direction. This is a book I will go back to throughout the rest of my life!

I highly recommend this book for parents who have children who are chronically ill or disabled. I believe that people who find themselves in this situation will also be blessed.This book challenges the readers to take God out of a box and encourages them to envision heaven in a new and exciting way.So throw away the wings and harps and picture a place where there will be nomore tears, no more pain and friendships that will be eternal. We ain't seen nothing yet! Praise God!

Joni truly has her eyes on the "prize"--Heaven! (see I Corinthians 9:24.) This book is so beautiful; it is really beyond words, it speaks from heart to heart. If you are reading this I truly believe you have been sent here and it is God's will for you to buy and read this book.

Perhaps Joni is the one exception to the above scripture! It is truly Amazing someone can take the limited scripture we have on Heaven and turn it into an inspiring, moving, exciting, and soul-stirring book! I wish this was in every home in the world! Once you start reading it is almost impossible to put down! And if you do, it won't be very long until you pick it up again! "Heaven Your Real Home" will make your soul ache and yearn for Heaven! Really wanting it will definitely help you get there!

After reading Mary K Baxter's book, I was skeptical about purchasing anymore books about the afterlife. But after watching the Heaven/Hell documentary, it inspired me to purchase this book. I must say that this book is biblical! Joni doesnt conjure up any false visions or dreams about heaven. She sticks strickly with the scriptures, and also adds her real life experiences to express her thoughts of the heavenly realm.

Jodi has given me such a wonderful outlook on life, people and faith. She has hit such a spot in my soul i cannot begin to share this very very special feelig. I feel truly as a soul inside a shell. The shell is nothing if the soul isn't doing. This is what this is about. God Bless this women and know that she has been given a gift and writing is it. Please read this book then discuss it with me. I would love to talk to anyone about it. Also I would love to know if I can get these books on tape. I have a dear friend with Huntington Disease. She cannot read anymore and I intend to give her these on tape to listen to.

Joni does a wonderful job of relating many thoughts of heaven to the reader. She envisions heaven from various perspectives. "Recognizing a relative", "How long is eternity?", "Will we get bored?", "Having fellowship with Jesus", and "What will Heaven look like?". Although the answers will not be truly known until going to heaven, Joni gives the reader a taste of heaven on earth. This book creates the anticipation of going home to see Jesus.

I ordered this mistakenly thinking it was the base book "Heaven". Instead it is a devotional with excerpts from "Heaven". There are 10 Parts to the devotional which I guess gather the excerpts topicaly. Within each part are 2 page devotions that each start with a bible verse and often end with a short prayer. There are only a few line drawings, and none of Joni's fabled color paintings within. However, it is sufficient for my purpose.

This book and Anne Graham Lotz' book are two of the best I've ever read. Joni has a unique view of Heaven. This is definitely one to get!

Very informative book on authors beliefs and thoughts. Hard book to find locally and our bible study class has had to share books.

This is a wonderful book that provokes us to think and look forward to our future in Eternity, and ponder the amazement of what awaits us there. Joni's sufferings in this life give her a glimpse of what most never see because of being caught up in this life and all its' busyness. God draws near to those who draw near to Him.
