A good rainy afternoon read., January 5, 2012
This review is from: Heavenly Vices (Thorndike British Favorites) (Paperback)
When the rather unpleasant Warden of Gracemount College carks it, at first everyone believes he died of natural causes. Theodora Braithwaite, who has arrived at the college for the purpose of research into the founder of the place, finds to her surprise, that the widow of the unlamented Warden wants her to discover who killed the man - or Theodora will not get access to the documents she needs for her research.
Reluctantly, she begins to investigate and uncovers some extremely unsavoury facts about not only the Warden's secret life, but of those she considers her friends.
The character's are not very pleasant but fortunately, that of Theodora is :)
This is a cosy, ecclesiastical read for a quiet afternoon, which I enjoyed enough to look for more of Greenwood's work.
