This is a great movie which I thought reminds you that you must have faith to receive really true miracles. I would recommend it

Believe it or not, I just purchased this movie, watched it tonight, and threw it away :(. I am so disappointed, now after seeing a second "Dove Family Approved" movie that was disturbing, and this one, completely messed up theologically. I think they said God's name once; this was not at all what I was expecting. Spoiler Alert: It does "end well" I guess, but it was depressing about 95% of the time, and so messed up in how they portrayed healing. Jesus is the only one that took stripes to heal us; no one else takes sickness or disease upon themselves to heal others, and healing is certainly not revoked later. They also sent the message that healing is only for a few chosen people, but certainly not all. Jesus never turned anyone away, praise God! :) I sadly would not recommend this to anyone, as it only makes a mess of the truth for anyone seeking to find it :(.

Technically speaking this is written very well & the acting & directing are great. It appears to be a mixture of biblical belief & ancestor belief. The bible teaches that our physically dead loved ones are in Heaven, no longer in the vacinity of the earth, but rather that demons parade as familiar spirits to trick & entice us. According to my bible education believing that they are here on earth in spirit helping us is a false, demonic belief. The angels help us, but everything is done in God's power. This film doesn't mention that it's only by God's power that miracles happen if we believe. It teaches more of 'ancestor' worship, minus God's direct participation. It is my understanding that this is a dangerous belief. The credit for healing is given to Riley & not to God. Also, if God uses one to heal another, that person doesn't take on the illness of the person they healed. However, it would be good to prayerfully sit down with the bible & verify what the bible actually teaches. I gave it one star because it goes against what I believe is a healthy belief in God & a healthy form of worship. You will need to research this for yourself.

As I watched this movie late one night, I felt myself becoming more and more unnerved by the underlying statement being made here. I was searching for something comforting and uplifting -- something that would leave me with a sense of happiness and hope. However, I don't care for the message that Heaven's Door seemed to be sending. Someone is given the gift of healing, uses it, and takes on the illnesses that she heals. What? What is the source of that message?

The more I thought about Heaven's Door, the more I felt a depression come over me. I checked out some of the other reviews on Amazon, to find that others were also not enthralled by this piece. Let's just say that the reviews are mixed. However, I am certain that I do not like this movie, and would never watch it again or recommend it to anyone I know.

My honest opinion: Stay Away!

I wouldn't watch this movie again but it was ok. Nothing more. Good idea for a plot though. Just fell short of what the preview made it appear. Wish I could give a better rating but honestly can't give.

This is a great movie for family watching. It's about those who believe in miracles and the turning point of those who don't. Great for children and Christians. I recommended it for all.

It's an okay movie, just not one I would watch again. It has a flawed message about getting into heaven, but I did like most of the actors.
