About the Author
Dr. Ron Ribble is a Lectuer in Psychology at the University of Texas at San Antonio, a Board certified Forensics Examiner, a Consultant in Human Motivation, and a Publisher of Troubadour, a journal of lyric poetry. In addition he is a retired Air Force Officer, a former Psychiatric Program Director and psychotherapist in practice, and a former engineer. Member, Life Member or contributing/sustaining member of numerous professional, political, educational, civil liberties and arts organizations Dr. Ribble can be found in such biographical refernces as Who's Who in America and Who's Who Among American Teachers. Dr. Ribble, who writes essays for professional reference works, columns for poetry journals about the psychology of creativity, opinion pieces for newspapers and some lyrics for music, has earned a number of prizes and annual awards with his poetry which he describes as light, formal, disciplined and accessible.

Witty, unpretentious, but sometimes profound.,

"Don't Eat the Snake" is easy to read and re-read. It uses traditional poetic forms, including often-clever rhyme, to put a little order into the mess we sometimes make of the world. There's nothing here to make you feel Ribble is speaking down from some high pulpit, but his subjects are the ones you're accustomed to hearing pretentious people bore you with. Ribble isn't boring at all, and he's often outright funny.
