Review

"Speaking the common, not--bless him!--the poetic language, Ron Ribble can be outrageous, as well as wise and melodious--bless him again! And he can do it all in the really hard forms like the Rondeau" The Editors of Paper Doll Publishers, England--"An eminently readable collection with impressive diversity...both thoughtful and thought-provoking...sensitive handling of contemporary issues..an acute with aligned to profound self-revelation. -- Richard Moore, Poet Critic, Pulitzer Nominee 1971

4.0 out of 5 stars Witty, unpretentious, but sometimes profound., May 24, 1999
By A Customer
"Don't Eat the Snake" is easy to read and re-read. It uses traditional poetic forms, including often-clever rhyme, to put a little order into the mess we sometimes make of the world. There's nothing here to make you feel Ribble is speaking down from some high pulpit, but his subjects are the ones you're accustomed to hearing pretentious people bore you with. Ribble isn't boring at all, and he's often outright funny.
