5.0 out of 5 stars This book should be a movie!
This book should be on the New York Times Best Seller's List (period). Dear publisher, you can make it happen. It's a travesty that it's not nationally known, yet it is as good as Grishm, Crighton and other sought-after authors. Dear everyone else: This is a page turner that will keep you up past midnight; especially, if you like taught suspense, action and gritty...

2.0 out of 5 stars Interesting premise, bad writing
I wish I had known before I bought this book how poorly written it is. The plot overall is certainly interesting, and I am admittedly a sucker for anything, fiction or factual, on the topic of 2012. Unfortunately, this piece was written on a junior-high level, and apparently not checked for grammatical or spelling errors. There is adolescent fascination with female...

This book should be on the New York Times Best Seller's List (period). Dear publisher, you can make it happen. It's a travesty that it's not nationally known, yet it is as good as Grishm, Crighton and other sought-after authors. Dear everyone else: This is a page turner that will keep you up past midnight; especially, if you like taught suspense, action and gritty romance, and if you like fiction that reads `real', this is the book for you.

DeEarlon's research for the book is exquisite; it makes the whole experience seem real like living in each scene. Historical comments, sprinkled by the author throughout, add possible truth behind the scenes, making my hair stand-up on my neck, more than once.

The story moves with two story lines, the past and the present. Each has its own suspense and tensions. The scenes are crafted so well it would make a great movie; in fact, I lost myself in those scenes often.

You won't waste your money buying this book. Hours of enjoyment are yours with this well-crafted book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heaven's Wave - Review, May 8, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Heaven's Wave (Paperback)
Heaven's Wave was recommended to me by a friend. I don't usually read metaphysical or science fiction, but because it was recommended to me I thought I'd give it a chance. I'm glad I did. This is one exciting, fast paced read and very, very different. 2012 was never a subject of serious consideration for me before I read this, but some of the proofs revealed in this "novel" have made me think twice. Even if the revelations don't click with you, the story will. Being able to look through a window back a thousand years to see how different parts of the world lived and survived then was great. There is also the unique connection between the two main characters a millennia apart; fascinating. Some of today's top action authors have got some real competition here. Absolutely 5 stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars Intersting Adventure, October 11, 2009

This review is from: Heaven's Wave (Paperback)
I've just finished Heaven's Wave. It's an excellent book, well written, absorbing, with an interesting literary style. This author has talent well worth exploring further. I'll give it four and a half stars. I would give it five, but there are several printing errors in the book.... a shame. Next book I suggest Mr. DeEarlon use a better editor. As for the main story line, the 2012 prophecy, I don't know. Mr. DeEarlon does, however, present some very convincing arguments for it. All around though, it is well worth the read, especially for history and adventure buffs - such as myself.

4.0 out of 5 stars Thought invoking book, August 7, 2009
This review is from: Heaven's Wave (Paperback)
I found this book to be fasinating and very thought invoking about the possiblities of things to come. I couldn't put it down until finished! It was written in the very interesting style switching back & forth between present and past, which kept me reading to get back to see what had happened where it had left off. It is fiction (?), but the author obviously has a large knowlege of Mayan history. I would highly recommend this book to anyone with an open mind.

2.0 out of 5 stars Interesting premise, bad writing, August 4, 2009
This review is from: Heaven's Wave (Paperback)
I wish I had known before I bought this book how poorly written it is. The plot overall is certainly interesting, and I am admittedly a sucker for anything, fiction or factual, on the topic of 2012. Unfortunately, this piece was written on a junior-high level, and apparently not checked for grammatical or spelling errors. There is adolescent fascination with female nakedness, lots of gratuitous bloodshed, and truly appalling treatment of Italians in this book. Although the plot takes place in several different countries, and features Norsemen, Franks, Mayans and others, for some reason the Italians are singled out as needing to sound...Italian? Every time an Italian bishop or his niece open their mouths, 'a's are added to random words, and 'the effecta is nothinga shorta of idiotic.' Please. How does such mediocre work get published??

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is ADVENTURE!, July 8, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Heaven's Wave (Paperback)
This book is a non-stop adventure about the Mayan prophecy of 2012. It offers a great education about the mysterious world of the Mayans and how savage that world really was. The main character is a Frankish priest and he is fascinating as well. Throughout the book you can follow his transformation from a zealot into a real human being with a greater purpose. But the bottom line is it is the prophecy that gets you and really pulls you in; to realize there may be some truth to this prophecy. I have done a little of my own research into it after reading this book and scientist are remaining quiet and seem to be pretty perplexed on the issue; which is a little unnerving. This is a great book that is fun and a fast paced read, not to mention mysteriously chilling.

4.0 out of 5 stars A MUST READ!, June 29, 2009
By
This review is from: Heaven's Wave (Paperback)
This is a superb view of the world one thousand years ago on both sides of the Atlantic. The story is told through the eyes of a kidnapped priest, and it makes you wonder who the 'barbarians' really were. It's not always clear in other books. The action in this book never lets you down- you can't stop reading from chapter to chapter. It's one adventure after another! As for the prophecy itself, I never realized there was such a solid, scientific basis for it. The epilogue alone is worth it- it will give you chills! This work is well written, thoroughly absorbing, and thought provoking.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great 2012, January 9, 2009
By
This review is from: Heaven's Wave (Paperback)
A great book. You're never sure what you're getting with a novel about an up coming event, but this book delivers. It is fast paced and exciting. -And the historical and scientific references are accurate. Plus, you don't even know you're getting facts because you're so caught up in the story. Highly recommend it

A great read with ton's of true facts about our past history in the world and what is really being uncovered by researchers and scientists. The book brings you into a mysterious, troubled and violent past and into the future that mimics it.
