At first it appears like a very high quality product due to the steel wire, but the wire is of very poor quality and tends to break quite often. Each time this happens it can be fixed, but it's a hassle and you loose about 2" of wire so this won't hold up for too long.

The wire simply frays at the end just like a nylon wire would. This is the exact thing I hoped to avoid, but rather this particular wire turns out to be much worse than a nylon one.

Mine just broke. The wire in the reel just pulled out of the metal fitting holding it. Too bad. I'm ordering a few more. It was getting banged up looking anyway.

When it says "Heavy-duty", it means Heavy-duty. The product is very well constructed with a smooth stiff spring pull and a steel cable. I get teased about the cable which is similar to a fishing line leader. Very sturdy and nice looking.

This item is not for regular persons. It is very huge and acward. I don't think this can be used for white colored jobs

It's a great clip as long as you don't get any kinks in the wire. I had 2 of them and they lasted about 6 months. I'd suggest going for a Kevlar line rather than a wire.Lucky Line 43651 Clip-On Key Bak Kevlar gives you strength and flexibility.

The reel is great. It is constructed to last a long time. The only flaw to the reel is the identification card clasp. The rivot ring that holds the cord has broken loose. They may want to make the rivot larger so there is more of the material under the rivot so it will hold better.

After going through 2 or 3 of the nylon wire type, this was a nice change. The wire is strong and resembles braided piano wire. Also good as a weapon to strangle someone with. (Kidding) Looks like the others and holds a good amount of keys or a badge.

I have lost more badges due to the nylon cords breaking on cheaper models. I definitely recommend getting this to avoid embarrassing security violations.

I am using this as a key reel at work and am very satisfied with the quality. I love the wire cord and the fact that it has a strong return for the 4 keys I have on the ring. Have not had it long enough to have any of the problems encountered by other users such as the wire coming loose, but I'11 be happy and will consider it a good value even if it only lasts a few months. Have ordered five more so I don't plan on running out even if it breaks.

Just received these - very good vendor. These are well constructed and well worth the price. The string is much more substantial that ones I have used in the past.
