I bought this thing for its impact hammering feature. It does what it's suppose to do with no issue. I have used it to help me replace several veneer stones. It chiselled away concrete and mortar like a hot knife through butter. Sure beats doing it manually...lol. I recommend getting some Bosch chisel if you want quality long lasting material. The chisels provided look kinda cheap. But overall, a great value buy!

Update (9/4/11): After using it for some time now, the side handle fell off. It seems like the notch (plastic) securing the nut became worned over time. I'm attempting to superglue? the nut back into the handle's notch. I hope it stays put and won't slip when I try to fit the side back on the drill body. -1 for low quality construction in this most critical area.

Upon receipt of the drill I tested it for concrete hammering and it failed within a five minute period.
I disassembled the motor and found that it may have had one carbon brush undersized which contributed to the burnout.
I contacted Tool Price through Amazon and with great delay finally receive a complete replacement unit.
This second drill was checked prior to operation and seems to be working great.
As you may guess by the price the tool is manufactured in China which gives us pause on purchase, but given the occasional use of a drill hammer it may hold up over the long haul.
I certainly would not expect it to last long if used commercially.
Tool Price held up their end of the deal with a replacement & I would purchase from them again.

I bought this tool with intention to break concrete. First the seller sent an old used one. Then they sent a "new" one. I fired this up and tried to drill two holes in the concrete. The machine started to smoke and then stopped working. Do not waste your money on this product. I would recommend spending more money to buy a machine that will last more than 5 minutes.

I bought this with some hesitation based on the other reviews. And it's delivered accordingly. The instructions are useless, but luckily its a drill, so there's not much to figure out. The parts list is in German, so I'll need to find another one once I need parts. And I'm pretty certain I will. It came with an extra set of brushes, and the fact it started to smoke and smell of burning plastic/rubber after a few tapcon holes, I figured I wouldn't need to keep track of them for long.

Everything about it screams cheap, but for $60, what do you expect? Hundreds for a better one that will last, weighed against running this one into the ground left me with the decision to buy this one. I have a building I'm rehabbing, and if it makes it through all the concrete work I need to do, I'll be pleased. So far the brushes haven't burnt through, but I feel it a good idea to 'brush up' on my German nonetheless.

I wish they'd just send a drill in a case and knock off $5. The crappy goggles, gloves, bits, dab of grease - why? I haven't used the bits that came with it, and am a bit afraid to since this drill doesn't have any kind of clutch to keep your wrist/arm from breaking if the bit gets jammed or breaks.

Cheap hammer drill for cheap. So far, it's doing its job. It's got the power if it doesn't burn up.

After months of waiting to receive a replacement unit, it is now December and I am still waiting, and waiting, but when it came to paying; they took my money FAST!. Need help with this issue.

I purchased this and got 20 minutes of use of of it before it quit working. I suppose it could just be a defective unit. I've emailed the seller to find out what to do about an exchange. I'll post the results of the request for exchange.

Update: Seller, Toolprice, agreed to ship out another unit and arranged a pick up with UPS without letting me know. It was lucky that I was home when the driver arrived. This second drill lasted a whopping 15 minutes before it ceased to work. I've now contacted the seller to arrange for a refund on this product as it seems clear to me that this is an extraordinarily low quality tool with an extremely high failure rate.

It was delivered intact and packaging seemed fine. But within 2 minutes of first use smoke appeared from its vents and there was a strong metallic burning smell. Now it sort of runs but has NO power. It is better to simply buy a good name brand or rent for your short term usage.

The drill was shipped in a double boxed package. Upon opening the unit in the inside box, I noticed the plastic case was fractured. It must have been damaged before packing. (Also, the plastic case is not the standard "blow-molded" case. It is very thin and cheap!) I stared using the drill. It worked great on the first two holes, but the motor started burning out on the third hole. I noticed a reduction in power when drilling the third hole -the rpms dropped. Then I started smelling burning windings and my wife saw smoke coming from the motor vents!

Do not purchase this unit. They are poorly made! At this time I have started an Amazon request to get my money back.

I have worked with this drill and it's not as heavy duty as being advertise. You can only do light work with this drill, if you attempting to do heavy work the drill will get very hot. The case in which the drill came in is very soft, for heavy duty drill shouldn't it have been in a harder case then that.

THIS WAS A GREAT GIFT. IT IS A VERY HEAVY DRILL TO HANDLE. YOU MUST BE A STRONG MAN TO USE THIS HAMMER DRILL. MY FRIEND LOVES THE DRILL BUT TOLD ME IT'S VERY HEAVY AFTER A FEW MINUTES USING IT AT HIS JOB.
