1.0 out of 5 stars Anthem Fan
Anthem is meant to be heard with original singer Eizo Sakamoto, not a half talent. Complete waste of money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Graham Bonnet strikes back!, August 30, 2000
This review is from: Heavy Metal Anthem (Audio CD)
The immortally melodic rock singer made it again! Bonnet at one of his best times. A truly remarkable heavy metal album reminding the unforgetable and haunting tunes of Alcatraz, Immpellitery, Rainbow and Blackthorn. Graham's voice still rocks the world with his truly epic melodies: "Win,loose or draw", "Midnight Sun", "Crying Heart", "Hunting Time" and "Blinded Pain" rank among the album's best songs. I would have given it 5 stars had it not "No Parol from Rock N' Roll" existed. A must for every devoted Graham Bonnet disciple!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another superior recording for Graham Bonnet, May 31, 2007
This review is from: Heavy Metal Anthem (Audio CD)
How anyone can maintain such an incredibly powerful voice over 40 years is absolutely incomprehensible. This is another notch for GB, as he once again performs admirably on this recording. Until this album, I was unfamiliar with Anthem. However, GB has always had a knack for attracting musical talent, making them sound better than they ever could otherwise, and this album does not disappoint. The musicianship here is stellar. Nobody keeps GB for more than an album of tunes. Graham moves on again and again, as he did from here, and yet he NEVER produces anything other than memorable vocal performances. Keep on rockin' "Iron Lungs."

Even though I understand this album to be a rerecording with Graham Bonnett taking over the vocal chores, It's exactly what I want to hear and nearly as strong as his best work from the "Built To Destroy" era. Fantastic melodic metal in the Schenker/Rainbow vein, does Graham find these bands or do they find him? They all seem to share the same great musical sensibilities no matter who he plays with.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Anthem by Anthem, May 15, 2007

This CD is fantastic without a doubt! Graham Bonnett is a huge vocal talent, but these are simply great songs without question. The opener Gypsy Ways is a tour de force but the whole CD and its companion EP are fabulous. I would love to hear their entire catologue sung in english, but honestly I love their music anyway. I have every disc they have put out with the exception of Seven hills which I am searching for, and they are all great. Great Hard rock and metal where the language is the music itself regardless of what lingo the vocals are in. I feel much the same about Loudness and Saber Tiger who also rule! Sometimes the fact that the vocals are done in another language allows you to focus more on the music itself. Anthem is certainly among the cream of the crop! Get this CD, you will definitely enjoy it if you like great metal!
