Customer Reviews

Very sturdy and well made.
C. HEWINS
One of the reinforced corners was not even punched inside the corner leaving the grommet dangling in mid-air.
Jack Ferrell
If you're looking for durability that will last at least over a year look elsewhere.

I thought this would turn out to be more tarp than I needed. I have a 7x9 Coleman four-man tent, and this 10x12 tarp is exactly the right size to go under the whole tent plus give me a generous entrance/exit area. I always stake it down at all four corners, independently from the tent.

Memorial Day weekend 2009 I was at a bluegrass festival that was hit by a near-hurricane-level storm. Tents and tarps went flying all over the place, and most everyone lost their gear. Not me. This tarp stayed put, the tent on top of it was unharmed, and despite being battered by wind and debris, all it got was muddy. Cheaper tarps and groundcloths at nearby campsites were torn to shreds.

Nice tarp, better made and heavier than economy grade, but not "super heavy". I owned tarps with
higher weight/sqft. Well spaced eyelets

Typo in the product name. Tarp thickness appears to be 10 mill (a thickness between 2 to 3 sheets of office paper) not 10 mm (about 3/8")

I purchased this tarp less than 18 months ago. It has completely rotted and is hanging in shreds. Other tarps I have bought have not even come close to deteriorating this fast. We live in Virginia, not in the equatorial hot suns of Brazil!
Things should not rot this fast. Puts new meaning to built-in obsolescence. Super Heavy Duty? Give me a break...
Check out the photo I posted for this product. They should be on the right side of your screen.

Unfortunately, I had another identical tarp since I was trying to save $$ on a 'great deal' -and bought them both at the same time. After putting it up this new tarp shredded faster than the first one! If you keep it out of the sun and elements it might work.
Don't be fooled by thinking you can save a few bucks. This product is only temporary at best. One star is 2 stars too many.
Buyer -really beware!!!!

While the tarp arrived in a reasonable time for ground shipping, I was disappointed in the quality. It is not Super Heavy Duty as advertised. The grommets were irregular and asymetrical side to side and one was installed protruding over the edge.

A previous tarp ordered from the same company was better than what I received this time which is why I reordered. Although I didn't return it, I used it "as is" anyway because of the necessity to cover my boat. I will not order this tarp again from this company because of their lack of quality control.

I bought this as a footprint for my Columbia Cougar Flats II (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002Q3LICS/ref=oh_details_o06_s00_i00). True to many reviews, it was a perfect fit.

The tarp's trial run was Element11 (Utah's regional Burning Man event). While there we got hit by the angry, bitter, five-times divorced step-mother of all severe thunderstorms. Ground water rose, rain fell a lake formed under the tarp, but it held true! The only water getting past it was what blew between the tarp and the tent (and the tent's sealed bottom stopped that). Inside, we were dry.

Once home, I simply sprayed it off, let it dry and lovingly packed it away for the next session of abuse.

I used this as a footprint to my tent and had no issues. There were a few rocks under our tent and the tarp wasn't even scuffed. The tarp is much more heavy duty than one you would get at Dicks.

I bought this UV tarp to shade my tent at Burningman, the UV aspect worked very well at shielding the sun, also it survived some very strong dust storms; proving that it's very well constructed. I wouldn't spend too much time looking else where.
