Fits the lens well and of good construction.

Oh well, it was cheap...but now I have to get another one and I think I'll end up paying the same as the expensive canon.

There is a small click, but it does not click and lock into place like all my other 4 lens hoods do.

Despite being designed for use with Cannon cameras, such as my new 60 D 18-135 SRL Cannon, the HeavyStar hood can not be properly secured in place. It fits in terms of size and can be screwed in place with relative ease, however, once it is in, it does not lock securely. This allows the hood to become loose or fall to the ground every time the camera is removed from the bag. That can be quite annoying with frequent use. Even though it is identical in shape, color, material and consistency with the Cannon Lens Hood EW-73B, and does the job overall, the Cannon hoods clicks firmly in place and does not move when the camera is handled. Therefore, the decision to return the HeavyStar hood and purchase the Cannon version for $14 more was an easy one. Unless money is an insurmountable issue, I recommend for Cannon users to stick with the Cannon-made hoods.

This product works exactly as described. It fits my Canon 18-135mm IS lens perfectly for my 60D. Why on earth anyone would spend $$$ on the official Canon one is by me. Get this and get happiness.

Works great and Canon could offer these at the same price and still make a good profit. Very happy with the lens hood.

I bought this lens hood before my trip to Costa Rica and I think I am happy with it except for one aspect- it sometimes doesn't click shut all the way and needs readjusting (hence the 3 stars instead of 5). I dont know if this is how all hoods work (this is my first lens hood purchase)or if got a bad product. Either way it didnt bother me enough to return it and except for that annoying bit its great and I would recommend it.

This lens hood works perfectly and at a fraction of the price for the Canon EW=73B. Great buy!

I used this lens hood on my Canon 18-135mm lens. I found that when shooting at 18mm, I get a black blur in the bottom of the image, but when zoomed in a little it works fine. I'm considering cutting a little off the end to slightly shortening the hood. Meanwhile, I am shooting without it.

I can't compare this to other hoods since I don't own any others, but from what I have seen in my use of this one so far, it is a good product. The plastic has some flex to it, which should keep it from breaking if you hit it on something while shooting. Some plastic components are too brittle and snap easily with the slightest contact, but this doesn't seem to be like that. It easily twists off, and can be put back on backwards for storage in your camera bag.
