This review is from: Heavyduty Windshield Suction Car Mount for Navigon 2000S 2100 2200T 5100 7100 7200T 2100 Max GPS (Electronics)
This mount works great. Unlike the factory supplied mount that came with my Navigon 7100T, this one is solid and once you've fastened it to the windshield (or to a bean bag mount), it's not coming off until you want it off. Releasing the suction cup from the windshield is very easy. I use my GPS in two cars: a sport sedan and a full-size SUV and this mount works equally well in both.
When I received this mount, it came as a kit and had to be assembled. The assembly instuctions were not entirely helpful as far as figuring out where all the pieces went. I am not the best person to deal with mechanical assemblies... it takes me an above average amount of time to put together anything that requires assembly. But I did manage to figure out how everything fit together, in just about a half hour. I didn't need it, but the Mount Guys outlet does offer phone support for assembly of their kits. This mount comes with a mounting plate that is sized to fit an array of similar GPS units. There are three clips that attach to the plate, and that hold your GPS unit in place. My kit came with three different clip sizes (I used the medium size for my 7100T). The plate has multiple positions in which to place the clips in order to leave room for various connections to your unit (power, antenna etc.). Initially I thought the plate I had received was way too small to accomodate my unit. But my GPS did fit afterall, in fact a nice snug fit - which is a plus. The touch screen on my GPS is now more responsive to my fingers because the unit is now supported in an extremely stable and solid mount. I'm actually kind of enjoying using my GPS now. I hated using it with the factory mount. There is just one problem with the Navigon 7100T and this mount. The L-shaped DC power connector supplied by Navigon would not fit snugly when the GPS is sitting in the bracket. You may need to find a DC power supply with a straight or side mounted connector. I've been using this bracket in one or both cars everyday for over a month now and I'm glad I bought it. Thanks Mount Guys!!!

I have other mounts by this company, and they work fine. I decided to get one that would hold my Navigon 7100 in the car since the original holder that came with it broke. Unfortunately, Im still going to have to get a new Navigon holder. This (universal)RAM holder is not really designed to hold the Navigon 7100 since it lays flat and covers the speaker on the back of the GPS. So if you need to hear the GPS spoken directions, this holder wont work.

This mount is about as perfect as you can get. It holds the GPS unit firmly so it doesn't swing all over the place when you use the touchscreen, it adjusts to any angle you could want or need, and all the buttons and ports are accessible.
There are no assembly instructions included, so here's how I put it together. 1) Determine which of the three sets of arms you'll need for your specific unit. I used the medium-length arms for the Navigon 7100. Make sure to check only back to where the 3 fingers start since those press back into the mount plate. 2) Use the long, black bolts and nylon lock nuts to attach the mount plate to the articulating arm. To make life easier later, make sure the spring-loaded end of the arm is toward the mount plate (this end will adjust easier so you can get that just-right angle of the unit once you're in the driver's seat). 3) Use the big screws to attach the other end of the arm to the suction-cup mount. That's it! Now just put it in the vehicle and adjust to suit your preferences. The spring-loaded part of the mount plate will hold your GPS (or smart phone, etc.) in just about any orientation, so choose the layout that best gives you access to the buttons and ports you'll need. I think this is a great mounting system and the seller should make the point that this will fit a lot more than Navigon. There is nothing brand-specific about this mount, so anything that's wide enough to engage the spring-loaded part of the mounting plate will be held firmly in place.

This product is fairly easy to put together and comes with a few options. Really the one thing that drives this product into the nearly useless category is that when you mount it to your windshield, it point straight down to your dash (unless you have a very old VW Beetle). There is zero tilt option.
