I bought a couple of thermal pants from different brands and sites to see which one is better before I buy a bunch of them. These are the ones I bought,

    1. Champion thermal underwear from Panda Apparel - This is good quality. But not as good as Indera. Price is ok.
    2. Calvin Klein thermal pant from Freshpair - This is a rip off. It is so thin and cost me $26.88 total including shipping.
    3. Coldmaster heavy weight thermal pant from Captain Dave's - This is actually a Indera brand. It is rated 'Extremely cold expedition weight'. This is the best quality of all 4. It is very warm for combat grade. It is also not terribly expensive.
    4. Indera Heavy weight 100% cotton thermal pant from Amazing Socks - This is very good quality. It is the same brand as #3, but rated between 'Very Warm' to 'Extremely Warm'. Just half click lower than #3. But it is pretty warm already. The price is the best. Only cost $15.49 everything included.

#1, #3, and #4 are good quality. #4 has the best price. If you want the warmest thermal pant, #3 is the one to get, which is the one I am writing review for.

The quality of these thermals is excellent, I only wish I could wear them.

Here is what you need to know: According to the package, they are, "Full cut for comfortable fit." What that means is that if you are slim they will be baggy. Also the rise (from the crotch to the waistband)is VERY long. They came up well above my lower ribs without being snug in the crotch. (Sorry about using the c word but, well, they are underwear.) They would probably avoid a lot of returns if they would simply state that they are Full Cut on the Amazon website.

The other issue is that the generic sizing chart that Amazon provides on the page says that a Medium Waist is 32 - 34 but the Indera chart on the package says a Medium Waist is 34 - 36. Again, why don't they state that on the website?

Wish I had know this before ordering. Thank you Amazon for making returns so easy!!!

My son is an US Army Black Hawk helicopter gunner. During one of his tours he was deployed in Iraq during the winter. Not only does it get hot in that country it also gets cold and snows. When my son flies it gets freezing at high altitudes. Also his door is open and he is exposed to the wind. During that Iraq deployment my son asked me to get him the warmest white thermals possible that he was so cold when he flew. I got him two sets of these heavyweight thermals. My son said they were the great at keeping him warm. I can't think of a better endorsement!

Their heavyweight 100% cotton construction is exatly what I was looking for. I can not wear synthetic clothing on my job and now days it seems difficult to find thermals in the store, especially with 100% cotton construction. The quality seems very good and I'm happy with the purchase.

Got these for my husband because it is so cold in the building he works in in the winter. He said they were fine but he wouldn't consider them heavy weight. We live in Michigan and have horses so for that he needs a really serious pair of thermals. This wouldn't be the ones he would want for that. But did just fine for what he needed them for in his workplace.

Great thermal underwear. Very comfortable 100% cotton. They don't shrink or draw up, but they have just enough "hug" so they're not baggy. I wear thermal underwear bottoms 3 months out of the year, and these are the best I've ever owned.

These are soft and will keep someone extra warm if needed. In my case, I need them to keep the heat out more than in as my hubby works near 700 degree ovens. These were less expensive than the Carhartt brand, the difference in feel is that the Indera's are softer, which may not be as good for keeping heat out. They washed and dried well thus far, and he's beaten the hell out of them. Only time will tell!
