The Best of the Best....Shew and Fontana!,

I was drawn by the cover of this CD. I was looking for one with Carl Saunders on it at the time. I saw this one and noticed Carl Fontana who is the greatest living jazz trombonist. Spending almost 20 years in Las Vegas and hanging out in the old Musicians Union local 369, I got to know Carl Fontana as a person...great guy! I heard stories about Bobby Shew from some of Buddy Rich's alumni. Also heard about what a great player Bobby Shew was from trumpet players whose names I had read on album jackets. These guys were right and Bobby Shew and Carl Fontana together make a perfect blend. This is real jazz. This is not showbiz stuff for the sake of musicians trying to make an impression, although it makes a great impression. These two guys play from the heart. AND they have depth and breadth of heart beyond most players today. They both possess the skill to execute any and every jazz idea that comes to them with awesome facility and agility. You get an undeniable sense of honesty and sincerity from what they have to say in their music. Thanks for making this one, gentlemen!! It's wonderful!!Chuck

This is a great CD. I'm a trumpet player and Own a Shew Yamaha. I'm really not much of a jazz guy, but this one is great. Great shipping time.
