I am memorizing Hebrews, and while I understood the overall content easily, I sometimes puzzled over meanings of phrases or background. Reading this along with my memorization adds interest and insight and has enhanced my understanding greatly. Sometimes explanations such as cultural or historical background to a phrase, or how it relates to a certain Old Testament occurrence are very helpful in deepening one's understanding. MacArthur's writing is clear, concise, interesting, enjoyable, and easy to read. I recommend it for anyone.

If I were to order this again, I would get it in hard back. I ordered it in paperback, and the binding came loose and pages fell out the first time I used it - and I was being gentle. Not a big problem - I will use it a lot, so will have it spiral bound at the copy shop, but wish I had originally ordered it in hardback now that I see how much I will refer to it.

If you have never studied Hebrews, then this is an excellent place to start. It is easy to read with questions relating to the text and to personal application
