For Kali devotees., February 14, 2010
This review is from: Hecate: Death, Transition and Spiritual Mastery (Second Edition) (Paperback)
This book , is about Hecate and it has invocations in Latin, but as a kali devotee, it has really drawn me deeper towards Mother Goddess. This book is not so much for people who are just interested in literal side of spirituality - there is no philosophy in it nor it is a lame translation from the vedas, as so many other books are. IT HAS DRY FACTS IN IT- accept it or not.
Mainly for those who are ardent devotees of The Mother ( Divine Mama in my language) and need to hear someone speak who has followed that path. Kali Path is not easy and it is difficult to accept the pain of the heart and fear of death that comes with it- so the purpose of this book, to me, wasn't to tell me how to experience divine bliss- but rather how to deal with what stands in the way.
I have been following heart based meditation for years and it was surprising to me that how little acceptance people have for the pain and fear that their own heart holds- including people doing the same kind of meditation- and how that pain, does not allow them to experience the peace their own soul craves for. We need a little bit more work in this area, and Jade's book forms a foundation. It is definitely one or more steps ahead of the level of spirituality that people are used to, esp in the west. Some of the topics that I really liked were Story of Hecate Chthonia, The wheel of hecate- that refers to shadows around the heart, Death- The next great experience, and the three phases of dying.
It is interesting how most modern spiritual "gurus" try to lay the path in front of people and cant even tell what comes with that path. Thats like disregarding all the work that each one of us has done in all our lifetimes and that Life is the greatest guru. I feel that we need to look at our own work, our own experiences in order to arrive- thats where, Jade's work comes in handy.
Invocations can be challenging ( esp for those who follow different language, like for me, it is sanskrit) and it might be good to have a reference regarding the source of those.

J.S.L. is truly a blessing!, September 23, 2010
This review is from: Hecate: Death, Transition and Spiritual Mastery (Second Edition) (Paperback)
Wow! What an amazing find this book has been for me. When I first read it, my ego clouded my judgment. I was so wrapped up in the idea of "me" that I couldn't see it for the absolutely amazing blessing it really was/is. This book introduced new ideas to me about an ancient and wonderful goddess whom I call "mother." Jade's writing style is so welcoming that it's hard to put the book down! With hard facts and personal insight which I feel is Divinely inspired, Jade has produced a book that will bring so many answers that it will make you ask yourself more questions. Thanks to Jade Sol Luna, I have a completely new love and understanding of the incredible Goddess that I call "Mother." Thank you Jade, for all that you do!

A Completely New look at an Ancient Goddess, April 25, 2011
This review is from: Hecate: Death, Transition and Spiritual Mastery (Second Edition) (Paperback)
Jade Luna has a very unique way of looking at this complex Goddess. I love the fact that he views this Goddess as God and discusses her light and dark aspects. I would not buy this book if you are new to Spirituality because his work is on the advanced side but for the adept mystic, this book is a gem!
