Hecatomb Trading Card Game Premiere Starter Deck

As a card game, this is designed really well. While it's a bit like Magic: the Gathering, it's much more similar to Call of Cthulhu CCG if you've ever played that. It's surprisingly dark, which is also something I liked. The game play is fun, and now that it's growing old you can find booster boxes to expand your play for relatively little money.

The premise of the game is simple. You have a deck of hexagons, all with a creepy picture in the middle. Only one side has writing - the other 4 sides are clear. You play creature cards, like in M:tG, but unlike Magic you cannot use a creature until you've stacked other creatures on top of it. Then you attack with a pile of creatures (called an abomination).

The only downside is that the cards feel really flimsy, and they stick together. I haven't bent any [although I only just learned to play], but I feel really nervous even just shuffling them. I'm surprised to say I would have preferred card stock.

This is a great game, i would love to see it resurrected. Along the lines of Magic and other CCG's.
