Many perspectives of Mexico explained for some of the most remarkable Mexican icons. The music is quite a delight, This is kind of a very cool documentary, with a very enjoyable rhythm.

I enjoyed this movie so much. The mix of music genres was very well made.
The most meaningful people from our times participated in this film.
I love the way they talked about Mexican diversity and our idiosyncrasies. It just made me love Mexico even more.

The film is filled with great music, and if you're american you probably haven't heard these artists before. So do you want to explore the music you've seen in the film? Too bad! The film makers don't tell you who's singing! If you've got a lot of time on your hands, you can cross-reference the names on the credits with pics on the internet, assuming you remember what they look like by the time you find them. Really stupid. On top of that, if there's a soundtrack I don't see it available anywhere.

The movie has deeper messages of calling to, and the remembering of, the human spirit. The poetry within the intoxicating music call to your heart and enlighten your mind. All while celebrating the spirit of mexico!

I think this DVD does a wonderful job of presenting the Mexican People and Culture in all its controversial diversity and polarity. On the one hand its a country with a bad organized crime problem on the other it's a thriving mecca for cultural arts and cuisine, not to mention one of 5 countries with the largest biodiversity -- and most recently, the country with the largest output of Japanese vehicles, beating out Japan (Yes, it also has a thriving automotive industry).

We in the U.S. are spoon fed a very one dimensional view of this fascinating country by our biased and corporate controlled media, and it's high time we started learning what's really taking place south of the border.

Not nearly as exciting as the trailer. The "philosophical points" noted by the other reviewer eventually become preachy and pointless, especially when the viewer is left in the dark as to who the performers and "preachers" are! (Diego Luna may resent that word but when your only line serves to justify cigarette smoking: hey, I'm just not impressed. The world does not needs another Marlboro Man.) The cinematography, people, and music are generally beautiful.

This movie is not what the trailer or other reviews describe. It is not insghtful, intelligent philosophical commentary on Mexican culture. It is more just a blend of different bands with some weird philosophical ramblings that are unrelated and make no sense. I was very disappointed after expecting to learn about modern Mexican culture, art, music, etc. Blah.
