... a land of rich and diverse topography, culture and people. A land of conflict and love; where Cartels rule in some sectors while artists and musicians in others. A land full of dichotomies and ironies. Mexico is truly a unique and intriguing country which is why I guess it remains among one of the most popular for adventurous travelers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful music! October 27, 2013
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
Wonderful documentary which explores music in Mexico, ranging from the traditional cultural music, to "banda," to Mexican "rap," music, even various native Mexican Indian groups singing modern "rap" music in their native language. Even a segment on the profound influence of La Virgen Guadalupe in music, politics, and everything Mexican. I found it fascinating! I was familiar with such artists as Lila Downs, Lupe Esparza (La Banda Bronco), Chavela Vargas, and others, and appreciated the introduction to the other musicians, both up and coming and the established ones. I searched for the soundtrack but am not able to find it anywhere.

This is a great film. Must see if you're interested in Latin music, or if you want to know more about Mexico and its philosophical and musical traditions.
