For "World Series", ok. But this has nothing to do with Brazil,

This review is from: Hed Kandi: World Series Brazil (Audio CD)
This will be a quick review about Hed Kandi's World Series Brazil release. Hed Kandi, the label, was one of my favorites in the early 00's with their Serve Chilled/Beach House/Winter Chill releases. Typically, the World Series releases feature a double disc set of throbbing dance tracks. Really nice mixes and great tunes.
Unfortunately I came to learn this later on, as when I saw that Hed Kandi was releasing a cd with BRAZIL being the most highlighted item, I had to check it out. I was disappointed, because this had nothing at all to do with Brazil. No Brazilian house or beats - nothing at all. Getting over this, there are still some sensational dance tracks on here, and the cd impressed me by capturing the ambiance of being in a pulsating club. But no beats, or really any Brazilian musicians as well. I'd imagine that if Hed Kandi wanted to host a party in Rio, this might be the approach and it wouldn't be too bad of one either. So if you're looking for a pretty good 'new' Hed Kandi club cd, then you'll probably be satisfied with this. But if you're looking for what could've been a great Hed Kandi interpretation of the newer electronic cuts out of Brazil, you'll be extremely disappointed. It bears repeating, this has nothing at all to do with Brazil, other than it being mentioned a bit in the notes which was and is pretty frustrating. And from some of the other reviews I've seen around, that's been the common gripe.
