5.0 out of 5 stars DIsco Heaven is Heaven
This compliation CD is awesome. It's so much better than those insipid remixes of top 40 tunes that are everywhere. This is seriuos house for true club music fans. Awesome.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad.....
I agree with some of the other reviewers that Hed Kandi has been hit-or-miss since Mark Doyle left, but in all fairness, I've tried some of the Fierce Angel compilations and they aren't any better or worse. I agree with some of the other reviewers that Hed Kandi has been hit-or-miss since Mark Doyle left, but in all fairness, I've tried some of the Fierce Angel compilations and they aren't any better or worse. One wonders if perhaps there isn't that much exciting new dance music out there. This selection lives up to the Disco Heaven reputation by being heavy on female vocals, gospel flavors, and unmixed tracks. My personal faves were "Have It All", "Let You Down" and "Love Has Gone". Seasoned clubbers will welcome the return of veteran Viola Wills (vocals on "It's My Pleasure") and the Joey Negro mix of "The Kinda Love". Both are standout tracks. Overall a solid compilation, although it probably could have been whittled down to one disc.

It's missing the gospel-dance-funky sound that was a hallmark of the original Disco Heaven albums. None of the tracks stand out - even "And I'm Telling You", normally a great track for some soulful vocals mixed with a beat, sounds bland. If your a fan of Disco Heaven, avoid this release. If your new to Disco Heaven, I would strongly recommend the first 3 releases: 02.02; 2003; 01.04. I would also recommend Mark Doyle's Tokyo Project: The Collection. It's a little more disco than Disco Heaven but still has some great Disco Heaven-like tracks.
