5.0 out of 5 stars Sounds Good, Tastes Even Better!
When I heard the previous Disco Kandi last year in a friend's car, I went straight to the nearest record store. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find a copy since they were either sold out or never had them in stock in any other record store. So as soon as I saw DK 3 on the rack today, I bought it without even looking at what the tracks in it were. That's what I think of...

3.0 out of 5 stars It's good, but not the best compilation.
Here's how the disco kandi compilation works....similar to disco house, but more on the disco side. That means lotsa vocals, funky vibes, and all around a lot of fun. I'm giving this a 3 though b/c out of 2 cd, the best tracks I found were:

sugartown
do it all night
pasilda
whem i'm with you
brasil over zurich
intro - which rocks!...

That's...

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Hed Kandi: Disco Kandi V.3 (Audio CD)

Unfortunately I wasn't able to find a copy since they were either sold out or never had them in stock in any other record store. So as soon as I saw DK 3 on the rack today, I bought it without even looking at what the tracks in it were. That's what I think of the Hed Kandi Disco series-they are worth buying on the spot. If you're into house music, this CD is worth buying. Usually the tracks are ones you'll never hear on the radio, but that's the type of CDs you should buy. If you're looking for those commerical tracks that get played over on the air, might as well download from napster.

That's only six tracks. However, I think many more of you will like more tracks...I'm just EXTREMELY picky with house music or what people call house music. I have over 3000 house tracks and so my standards seem probably a bit too high. This is a good cd, and worth a buy b/c you can have a lot of fun with it. Check out my other reviews for the other disco kandi cd's....

5.0 out of 5 stars This Album is a Sure Classic.., October 21, 2005
This review is from: Hed Kandi: Disco Kandi V.3 (Audio CD)
I am a big fan of Disco Kandi's work. It started in my living room many years ago when a friend brought a long a beautifully packaged CD for me to listen to. Their music just makes me smile. I buy their CD's because it's all about feel-good, non-commercial, happy, fantastic music. My absolute favorite song on this Album is "Suite 56", which has become an in-joke among my closest friends, whenever there's a trick situation about to happen (that's where we go)! Not to sound like a advertisement but honestly, when you buy Hed Kandi music, you are buying quality, unique productions that are worth having in your collection. These albums will become classics very soon and I am glad there are companies like HK who keep producing such compilations.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hed Kandi's Done it Again., January 6, 2003
By
This review is from: Disco Kandi 3 (Audio CD)
Hed Kandi is one of the most venerable labels in dance music, coming up with great double-disc compilations of grooves courtesy of Mark Doyle. On the third volume of "Disco Kandi," we get soulful vocals and funky house that sometimes recall the 1970s. Ann Nesby's pumped up "Lovin' Is Really My Game," Loleeta Holloway's "Dreamin'," and "The Player" by First Choice are some of the highlights that make "Disco Kandi Volume 3" worth the trip. It's obviously not the best of the series, but it ain't half-bad either.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really Cool, July 9, 2001

This CD is as cool as all the other Hed Kandi CDs. The music is laid back yet there are other tracks which are dance. Strong recommendation to buy.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disco house and garage house, February 19, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Hed Kandi: Disco Kandi V.3 (Audio CD)
It arrived this morning and straight into the office hifi it went. Everyone loved it and that is why for me it is the best Disco Kandi so far. The tunes are full of that good old Philly disco sound and are fun to listen to, which has always been the point of Hedkandi I believe. The fact it is the most commercial probably says more for the growing popularity of house music than it does about any change in Hed Kandi selection policy. The tempo and style moves upwards nicely through the CDs making a complete and pleasurable listening experience. It's only Tuesday but I'm wishing it was Saturday thanks to this CD. The fact that is so wide appealing is it strongest point, more people will listen to house music now thanks to this CD, it's so fun it appeals to everyone and while sounding charty it still features the biggest house names around; Lisa Millet, Joey Negro, Dimitri and the wonderful voice of Loleeta Holloway. Also worth mentioning is the EXCLUSIVE 2001 Tamperer remix of Gusto's Disco Revenge. The best CD I've bought this year so far which sets the standards by which other house complilations must aspire. But did you really expect anything less from Hed Kandi and Mark Doyle?
