Grrr. I'm so cranky about the cheapness of these bags. Good grief, they were barely out of the box before the red-slidey thing broke into pieces.

I purchased them to hold our bagels. They are just the right size to keep about 9 to 12 bagels (depending on size) fresh. The bag I just finished using didn't even last to the end of this weeks supply which is about 4 openings and 3 closings. THEN the red-slider failed and cracked into 2-pieces. How cheap can you get?

I know these bags used to be better than this. I've got school supplies and 5 pound bags of sugar in the basement that is stored in some. But the new ones are not worth the money.

Try something else; don't buy these.

These are bigger than the 1 gallon and hold more stuff and also good for projects so the papers will not fall out

These bags are great for storing prepared food dishes that I plan to place in the freezer. Most often the plastic zipper works, sometimes they don't. These are hard-to-find large plastic bags.

I absolutely love the 2.5 gallon Hefty zip lock bags. They are the perfect size for camping. You can use them for food storage, toys, and to keep pieces of clothing organized and clean (thermals, socks, t-shirts, leggings, etc). You can push all the air out of them, zip them up, and they stay deflated, almost like a vacuum bag. Several years ago my local store used to carry these and I've loved them ever since. Now I have to order these off of Amazon. Although, I'm not complaining, since I can still acquire them here. I highly recommend them to anyone. You may not think you can use such a large bag, but once you do, the possibilities are endless.
