I regularly use my OneZip bags to freeze food for short term storage. I cannot speak to how it compares with other products for this purpose (e.g., America's Test Kitchen).

Potential customers should realize that there are other possible uses for this product line. For example, I store 5lb. bags of rice in the gallon size. The zipping mechanism that Hefty uses is much more reliable that the "line up the grooves and run from one end to the other" method of ZipLock. I'm not arguing the rice (or whatever) is better protected, but I am less worried about potential spills.

Which brings me to use #2 - One zip bags are a dream for storing small parts and tools. I use them all the time for organizing and safely storing electronic parts and cabling (in larger sizes) - of course, electronics which are static sensitive should be kept within specialized anti-static bags, but those bags are readily and safely stored in the one zips. I've had lots of failures with the Ziplock brand.

For my purposes, this product line is ideal.

Not only do these bags hold peas as seen in the illustration, they also hold nuts, bolts, screws and other loose items. These bags make my wife happy because they help me keep a neater work area.

Thanks for helping keep my marriage strong.

I love these bags over the Glad ones since they have the zip feature rather than trying to close the other ones with hand pressure, & you hope you've sealed it properly. That's not a problem with these. One Zip, & they're closed. I just make sure I've removed as much air as I can before zipping it closed. Works good for storing batteries, & many other things. You're only limited by your own imagination as to what to use them for.

These have been great for the kids... little fingers have trouble opening and closing regular ziploc style bags, but the zipper is easy enough to do that my 3 & 4 year olds can open their own snack/sandwich bags.

These are not airtight. They received a low rating from America's Test Kitchen but I did not see that episode until after I had received these bags. They cannot protect food in the freezer because the fancy zipper fails to seal the bag. Go with the Glad freezer bags.

I don't know how good these bags are but I do know that Freezer bags are much better than other ziploc type plastic storage bags and you need to have as much protection as possible for food in the freezer. Tightward Gazette recommends recycling plastic bags. I have never done so but a sturdier bag would stand up better to being washed. I like the zipper mechanism which works on this model but does not work on the jumbo size. However, America's Test Kitchen found that this type was not airtight and was inferior to the Glad seal.

I stopped buying Hefty freezer bags recently because too many have not zipped at all, or failed to stay zipped, or pop open in the freezer, despite not being very full. I've never had this problem even with "cheap" non-zipper freezer bags, but it's happening too often with Hefty brand slider bags. So much for the "Stronger Seal than Ziploc" claim on the box.

Size Name: Quart Storage (Pack of 9)Unit Count: 360Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
A mediocre product from Hefty. The Quart size Storage bags are different in shape from our usual store brand zip-top bags being more square than the narrow, longer bags we're used to. Still, a quart is a quart so storage space is the same. The slider bag is easier to operate for young, old and like mine, disabled hands. That being said do note that because of this slider design the bags are not 100% air or water tight. No amount of pressing or pulling on the slider was able to keep some water orair from leaking out from the slider corner when sealed. These bags would be good for snacks, sandwiches and storage of dry item but if you need a bag for fluids or one with a complete air tight seal you'll need to shop elsewhere.

These bags are nice. I like how they zip. It makes it really easy. Every now and then the zipper comes off as your closing or opening the bag but that only happened to me twice. They work good.

Product: Zip Lock Bags
Brand: Hefty
Purchased: Walmart, On Sale

Review

I purchased these because they were on sale during the back to school season. They were in two packs of different types mixed together. The two packs were cheaper than buy two of the store brand so I figured why not. Honestly, Hefty isn't a brand I buy often because I like to save money on house hold items so I can splurg on clothing and eating out at fancy places.

I probably will not purchase this brand again unless they are on sale or at the Grocery Outlet. It wasn't because they were a bad product, but it is simply because they are no better than the rest, and I don't want to spend the extra money on something of the same value.

Also, the easy zippers are easy alright, easy to break. So be warned, don't let your small children try to open them because if they pull no the bag at all while trying to get a grip on it to zip the zip seal with pop and the zipper will become useless.
