Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

Michael Inwood, Professor of Philosophy at Trinity College, Oxford in Great Britain, who has authored several important texts on Heidegger including A Heidegger Dictionary, wrote a foreword to the book in which he states:

“Michael Watts gives an exceptionally clear and readable account of Being and Time, while also performing the difficult feat of weaving this into an account of Heidegger’s later writings. He provides valuable guidance for the beginner through the complexities of Heidegger’s thought and much of interest for those who are already ‘on the way.’ ”

About the Author

Michael Watts is a professional psychologist with 18 years experience. He has written widely on the subject of personality and behaviour and regularly contributes to television and radio programmes on the subject.

This review is from: Heidegger: A Beginner's Guide (Paperback)
I purchased this book after reading the incredibly complimentary foreword written by a Professor of Philosophy at Oxford University. He states - amongst other things - that the text is exceptionally clear and provocative covering both 'Being and Time' and Heidegger's later work. He also strongly recommends it to beginners as well as to advanced students - I thoroughly agree with him! This book has deeply enhanced my insight into Heidegger's way of thinking and has cleared up many areas of confusion.
