PLEASE BEWARE...this is a very poor quality black and white Heidi....AND most importantly the actor is Elsbeth Sigmund...it is directed by Comici..Amazon dont post incorrect stuff on here!!!..It is worth a look if you have seen it before and are a Heidi fanatic and want to see all the versions...The very best version is the real Singhamner version by Werner Jacobs......the best version is one that follows the book and is European and has a Heidi with long braids.....

I love this movie so much. I have been looking for it for years, And I am excited to say I will soon be the proud owner of it. I must say I havent seen it since I was a child, But as you can see its had quite an impression on me. I recomend it everyone!

Amazon's item description says, the VHS is the version starring Eva Maria Singhammer as Heidi; when in fact, the version pictured and the version sent by the seller is a different movie version starring Elsbeth Sigmund as Heidi.

Amazon says, the studio is "Anchor Bay". The VHS pictured and received by me is by "Burbank Video" studio.

The new VHS has severe sound and picture distortions; making the movie not watchable. Lots of loud static noises, while the picture flickers with lines across the screen. I adjusted my tracking and made sure I was on Extended-Play to match the VHS sent. The Burbank Studio version is a bootleg copy, of a copy, of a copy of a store-bought VHS; copied at home; rather than a professional copy of original-stock.

There is a different VHS of the version with Elsbeth Sigmund with a pink cover with two girls, rather than this green cover of one girl with a deer; Amazon-Standard-Item-Number (ASIN): B000007PQ5. It says, that studio is Bridgestone Multimedia, which may be a legitimate and better picture quality.

The version with Elsbeth Sigmund begins with Heidi happily living with her grandfather. It is filmed in Switzerland, but because it is in black and white; it might as well have been filmed in the hills outside Los Angeles. I have only watched a couple minutes, due to the bad picture & sound. However, I can already tell the three other versions in color, Shirley Temple, Emma Bolger, and Jennifer Edwards are all better versions.
