This beauty is supposed to be able to pop off, just not like the detractors say it does. It took some force to click it into place on the belt. Mine then never did pop off until my car was totaled on the freeway. Then it popped just as the seat belt retracted so all I got was a bruised shoulder, not a broken collarbone (or neck). Putting these on all the seats in my new car, and recommending them to friends.

Nice item that has made my driving more comfortable. No more seatbelt rubbing on my neck!

My neck gets trapped in the seatbelt, even when it's down on the lowest level. This adjuster allows the chest strap to miss my next and go more towards my waist. Works every time and is made of heav, durable plastic. Take the time to read the instructions to make sure it's on the correct way.

I bought this as a gift for my mother, who is a large woman and had trouble with the seat belt cutting into her neck while driving. She had tried other products, but they required removing them every time she got out of the car. This product looks cheap, but it holds together and works. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that the instructions are really poorly written. Once you figure out how it connects, though, it works like a charm. It does tend to pull the lap belt up a bit so that it rests more on the stomach than across the hips. A minor issue, and one that is not uncomfortable, so I'm told.

I ordered the Heininger Commute Mate Seat Belt Guide, but wasn't convinced it was all it was supposed to be after reading some of the reviews. However, they arrived quickly, I installed them as soon as they arrived & have been happy about it ever since. They actually do the job by keeping the seat belt strap from rubbing against my neck, so I, for one, can recommend them. Until you get the hang of it, they can be a bit tricky to install, but after a couple of trial & errors, I figured it out. The instructions aren't quite as idiot proof as I would like, but persistence pays

These seat belt clips keep the belts off our necks. I don't mind to buckle up when it's comfortable. Adjustable to everybody and can be removed and used in rental cars too. Very "cheap, cheerful, and practical".

This product is a lightweight plastic clip which is designed to hold the upper seat belt away from your neck by latching it to the lap belt. The plastic is not strong enough to do this, and the plastic bar which clips into the adjuster pops out. Look for another option.

This product works as specified; but I was surprised to find out that it is just two little plastic pieces. If I had known that before purchase, I probably would feel more satisfied. It is easy to install. My daughter can clip it and adjust it so she's comfortable. It solved the problem of raw-neck.

When I am in our F-150 pickup, the seatbelt rides just under my chin and along the side of my face. This is uncomfortable and immensely annoying, and I also have this image of immediate decapitation should there be an accident. I am 5'6" and the "adjustable" seat belt hanger sits at its lowest point on the chassis, so I don't see why this should be the case, but there it is.

So I thought this little gadget to adjust the belt would be just the thing. I was wrong.

One positive is that the manufacturer does not use the "impervious to all implements" hard plastic packaging, just a plastic bubble with cardboard backing. There are two adjusters in the package, although that isn't immediately clear, either from the packaging or the instructions. The instructions are the first problem... they are all text, with no pictures. Pictures would make this so much easier!

As near as I could figure out, you get two pieces per adjuster -- a sort of "bracket" that fits on the front of the lap belt and a little "keeper" that goes behind. The keeper is a thin plastic bar with little tabs at top and bottom that click into the bracket, so that the belt is sandwiched between. One really silly thing is that the tabs aren't symmetrical, so you have to figure out which is top and which is bottom to click the keeper bar into place.

The bracket has a clip that sticks out, a lot like the tabby-thing you'd use to clip your cell phone to your belt, for example. You put the bracket on the lap belt so the opening is facing down and then you can slide it back and forth on the lap belt. Then you slip the shoulder strap under the clip and it now "attaches" wherever you want on the lap belt, rather than at the point where the belt clips into the seat.

However, it turns out that the lap belt just twists under the pressure of the shoulder belt, so the shoulder belt is now not just in your face, but in your face sideways. The free sliding means that the pressure also will eventually pull the adjuster back to the point where the seat belt *wants* to attach, at the seat. Even if it is in place and untwisted, the belt is now coming at an odd angle to the chassis attachment, which encourages the twisting to re-occur.

Initially, I had a lot of trouble getting the device to "clamp" to the belt, and it would pop off while I was driving. Now, however, I can't get the silly thing off!

Lastly, I have to rethink my initial goal... by running the shoulder belt along the lap belt for a space, you introduce slack into the belt... slack that will have to play out before you are actually restrained in an accident. And that seems like rather a bad idea.

I'm going back to a hot but at least unchafing ultrasuede wrap-around to shield my neck from the belts.
