The Heininger 3058 PortablePET PortaBottle is a great item to have when going on an outing with your dog. The carrying strap is adjustable and also removable. I wouldn't want to remove the strap too many times however since the part holding the strap onto the bottle doesn't seem solid enough to handle repeated removals. I was expecting the part which the dog drinks from to be hinged or slide down. Instead, it is a pliable plastic that you turn inside out to create the drinking cup. It works fine but is a little awkward--especially when putting it back to the original, non-drinking position. I was also surprised that the top on the bottle was not like those you see on a sports bottle...this is more like a spout. Although it hasn't leaked yet, I think it will start at some point in the not too distant future. All-in-all a great accessory to have handy. The sturdiness is my only concern.

The Heininger Automotive PortablePET PortaBottle is a very convenient and functional product to have when you're going to be out for awhile with your dog. The bottle is quite functional, holding up to 20 ounces of water, has a sealable nozzle to prevent leaking, and its wide mouth enables you to put ice in it to keep the water cold for a good length of time. Further, the bottle holder quickly and easily converts to a drinking cup when turned inside out. And, the bottle when resting in its holder is conveniently carried around by its adjustable and easy to remove strap. However, similar to the concern expressed by a few other reviewers, I have some concern about the durability over time with the plastic-like part that holds the strap to the bottle. Of course, this has not been a problem for me to-date, and it may never become one. But this part doesn't seem too sturdy. Putting that concern aside, I'd recommend this PortaBottle to you, and I think if you buy it your dog will thank you for doing so.

This bottle works for water for my dog on long walks, I like the strap. The bowl is a flexible material and turns inside out.

Our friend lent us a similar bottle of a different brand and we found it quite useful for car trips or walks. Ours lasted about two months before we left it exposed in our hot car (we live in the desert where temperatures can be 115+) and the plastic twisted and shrunk. It would still hold a little water but wouldn't fold down anymore. The reason I give it 4 stars is because the other brand was a little easier to fold down; this one occasionally splashes remaining water on you as you have to sort of "pop" it back into place. I don't question its durability because not much survives being in a car here during the summer. A border patrol agent recently left his German Shepherd in his car here for just a few minutes and it was dead by the time he got back. Very sad. Anyway, a solid bottle and nice idea. The strap seemed to work just fine as well as the cap.

The PortablePET PortaBottle is great in concept. However, in use the bottle falls short.

The bottle holds up to 20 oz of water. I wish it were a little larger, it gets hot in Georgia. The strap is adjustable but held on with thin plastic clips.

In order to give the dog a drink, you have to flip up the thick rubber cup that is molded against the bottle. You have to turn the cup inside out as you flip it into position. I see this as a place where the motion will weaken the rubber and eventually break. We'll see.

The spout pulls out of the top and water flows into the cup. There is a small rubber O ring on the spout to seal the water in the bottle. If you lose the O ring or it breaks, the bottle will leak.

I have used this bottle with my two yellow Labs and one will drink from and the other will not. Oh well, that's his choice.

I give it two stars for the concept but not three or four due to the design of the cup, the strap clips and the spout O ring.

I got this for my GSD Neiko. Great for taking on walks or drives. He gets a drink whenever he needs it. The foldout bowl is awesome and the perfect size for my guy.

Purchased First part of Feb.and by April one side has cracked, Still in use (almost daily) but it will soon come completely loose. Dogs had no trouble using this product and it is handy, but I question its durability.

I like the long strap and the size of the bottle. The little nozzle that squirts the water out is flimsy and difficult to manage. Water squirts everywhere except in the receptacle.
