Standard Snow Donuts install easily in minutes are intended for occasional or emergency use with cars, minivans, SUVs and vehicles with four wheel drive. Snow Donuts are certified by TUV, Onorm 5121, B26 and approved by the Colorado Department of Transportation. Very easy to fit especially when compared to standard metallic snow chains, and when taking in to account the extreme conditions of use. No deterioration when used on snow and icy conditions and the maximum speed below 30 mph. Driving on asphalt will shorten Snow Donuts lifespan. No risk of damaging the car (ABS, EPS, ETC), nor the tires. Snow Donuts are light weight, easy-to-store, reusable, and machine washable. They work in a way that they are automatically and perfectly centered on the tire after a very short while of use. It is impossible that they fall off while driving under normal conditions. first these are not as easy as it shows to get on your tires but once i did get them on they did work
FOR A TOTAL OF 21 MILES!
i live 3.6 miles from work, all back roads, i put these on thursday morning early we had about 8 inches of snow (the town just does not want to plow this year) and they worked pretty well, the pavement was NOT visibile and i drive like a granny (new 2013 veloster which is my baby) when i say drive like a granny i mean not above 20 mph any time in this nasty weather.
i got home later no problem,.
next day still snow on my hill & big time in my driveway and ice on the roads the entire trip to work so my speed was about 15 mph friday am and pm (again i only drive about 7 miles round trip)
today we had a snow storm and it fell at about 1 inch per hour roads horrible but i had to run out in it, about 3 inches of packed snow (again the town has done little) and accidents every where, i drove for about 3 miles to my destination (the last 2 of which felt more and more slippery but the snow was pounding down so i figured it must be the snow worsening)
AND TA DA!!!! the "impossible to fall off" snow donuts were not only off but torn to shreds (i was only driving 10 mph the roads and visibilty were horrible!

soooo after pulling one off which was attached by a thread and cutting the other one off which was wedged somewhere in my 18 inch low profile rim i was furious.

i understood when i purchased these that they are not for anything but serious snow and ice and can not (and were not at any time) be driven on bare pavement and NEVER above 30 mph, well i maxed at 20 mph, traveled less than 21 miles total (over 3 days of terrible weather and threw $80+ out into the snow!Read more ›

Works better than expected (Toyota Solara Convertible in MN)

This car just sucks in the snow, even a light snow. When sitting at a stop sign on any kind of upward slope, it was always an adventure to get moving forward. We had tried new tires with no improvement. We gave these tire covers a shot and it worked. My wife keeps them in the trunk and pops them on as needed. Takes about a minute to get them on, about 10 second to take them off. You have to reach into the wheel wheel to get them on, so you may get that dirty snow on your coat but that is to be expected.
