Hodge Podge,

This review is from: Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber: Balletti and Sonatas for Trumpets and Strings (Audio CD)
There are superb recordings of Biber's violin sonatas and trumpet pieces available on CDs today, by Reinhard Goebel, John Holloway, Monica Huggett, Cantus Colln, Gradus ad Parnassum, the Gabrieli Consort, and the English Consort. This disk is a curious grab bag selection of pieces that don't fit well together, played with no exceptional virtuosity. Sad to say, it was the only Biber recording I found in the music racks of a big bookstore in the Mall of America.
