I got this from our friends in the UK. We passed it around as a conversation piece with great hilarity. Finally opened it up after 6 months. It is quite good..a little bland..but warm it up in the microwave and it tastes better. Its a mix of crumbly cake and raisins. We don't take it seriously enough for the quaility of the contents only for the funny name.

I'd recommend Heinz sticky toffee pudding way over this. when you dump out the sticky toffee pudding on a plate, the sauce covers the top and sides like a creme caramel pudding. Nuke it in the microwave and we put it in the middle of the table and we all dig right in with vanilla ice cream on the side. YUMM-O !

I bought this as I wanted to try something new and it seems like nobody sells this in Chicago. Tried it a bit after I opened the can and it was VERY good. Nice and moist even with being sealed inside a can. Microwaving it made it taste better and made me crave to have custard with it (which unfortunately I didn't). I look forward to the next time we meet spotted dick...next time.

Take from can, pop in microwave, serve, eat, enjoy.

"Spotted Dick" was one of the few non-nauseating shipboard foods
described in author Patrick O'Brian's nautical fiction,
in the series beginning with "Master and Commander".

I ordered a can of this as a joke and it turned out to be great. I shared my Spotted Dick Pudding with some of my friends and they sure did love eating my spotted dick pudding. After putting my spotted dick pudding into their mouths, their eyes lighted up with joy. Quite a tasty treat!

Bought this can of spotted dick from a local European shop. I don't know if this is authentic or how it compares to something in a restaurant in Europe, but as a canned sponge cake, it was surprisingly moist and fluffy. It's very easy to make and it definitely has a better cake texture than Twinkies or other packaged snack cakes. Unfortunately, despite the picture showing the custard icing on the cake, the can does not contain any custard, so you would need to buy that separately. So if you like raisin cakes, this is definitely a good one to try.

Went to high school in the UK. Bought this product as a door prize at a reunion. It was so popular, sold a lot of tickets. What did it taste like? I dunno...never tried it.
Delivery service was excellent. Thanks.

The product was fun, but a bit dry or much drier than I recall spotted dick. Over all worth the fun, but if someone wants to try spotted dick for the first time I suggest you go elsewhere.

I bought this and found out it is fwhat Americans call Spice cake with some fruit.
It's not bad,in fact it's rather good spice cake. I think it is rather expensive though.
