Book Description

Heir Apparent - Digital Science Fiction Anthology 4 (50,950 words; about 186 pages in print), is an anthology of ten original science fiction short stories from professional writers. We are pleased to present in our fourth anthology an exciting collection of new stories from established authors. Our fourth edition of the Digital Science Fiction anthology series serves up a smorgasbord of terrific stories; however, each story has its own unique version of an heir, and we look forward to hearing from our readers on whether those heirs truly do represent a passing down of some type of human bond or connection.

Ten Unique Stories by Professional Science Fiction Authors

Heir Apparent includes 10 first-time-published science fiction short stories by:

- Robert Lowell Russell - Floaters
- Brandon Nolta - Persistence of Memory
- George Walker - To Titan on the Daily
- Paul Cook - Ghostbook
- Eric James Stone - A Lincoln in Time
- Cassandra Rose Clarke - Hooked
- Ed Greenwood - My Silent Slayer
- Ronald D. Ferguson - Philosophy
- Alex Kane - In the Arms of Lachiga
- Martin L. Shoemaker - Father-Daughter Outing

5.0 out of 5 stars The best yet!! November 13, 2011
By A.C.
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I'm a fan of the digital science fiction anthologies (having read 1-3), but this is by far the best yet. I thought the blend of stories was great and well-balanced. I liked how they each had a completely unique feel from the others (not a bunch of "cookie-cutter" tales). A personal favorite was Ghostbook. I enjoyed how it took both the sci-fi and paranormal genres and blended them into an awesome mix. The next on my top choice list is The Silent Slayer...it will mess with your head "literally" :P (you'll see what I mean when you read it).

Overall I'm very impressed with the 4th anthology book and will find it hard for the next in line to top it. The authors selected are no amateurs (and well, if they are, you'd never know.) The writing is well done and the stories are really interesting. I give it an easy 5-stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Anthology January 20, 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I read volume two and was extremely impressed with the level of professional writing and loved story after story. Now that I have finished volume four I'm once again happy with my purchase. A few stories stuck out to me as excellent: Father-Daughter Outing by Martin Shoemaker, In the Arms of Lachiga by Alex Kane, and Philosophy by Ronald D. Ferguson to name a few. Thank you Digital Science Fiction for another great collection of stories.
