Book Description

December 15, 2006
Surprises have always highlighted the annual Spring Festival of Trallia - but up until now they have never been deadly. At the celebrated betrothal of young Lord Lukas and Princess Lilia, an evil dragon suddenly strikes to snatch Lilia from the frenzied crowd while Lukas cowers in fear of the dragon's infernal breath. His uncontrollable fear of fire has cost him the ultimate price: the girl he loves. In an attempt to redeem himself and save Lilia, Lukas must face his fears and pass tests of temperance, wisdom, justice, and courage against overwhelming adversity as he seeks four pieces of armor that alone have the power to defeat the dragon. Though his quest teeters at the brink of ruin by the fears of his past and doubts of his present, a destined alliance with an old seer leads to an inner transformation that empowers him to complete the quest and embrace a future he could never have imagined.

Review

"Heir of the Forgotten Realm" places in fantasy adventure the challenges every youth and every adult will inevitably face: courage or fear, hope or despair, faith or resignation, perseverance or surrender sacrificial love or self-protection. Let the reader expect not only a page-turning adventure, but a challenge to attain the highest in human character and life, --David Gregory, auth of "Dinner with a Prefect Stranger"

5.0 out of 5 stars Edge of Your Seat Excitement!, October 6, 2009
By
This review is from: Heir of the Forgotten Realm (Paperback)
It was very hard not to give in to the demands of my children who were begging for me to read more than one chapter each day. I was just as eager to continue reading as they were to hear the story.

It's difficult to find books for youth that are not void of substance and full of fluff. This book is definitely full of substance and void of fluff!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A real page-turner., January 25, 2007
This review is from: Heir of the Forgotten Realm (Paperback)
I've been reading this fantasy-action-adventure novel to my son for the past several weeks, and neither of us can wait to get to the next chapter. It is intelligently written with a well-crafted story line which the author skillfully uses to illustrate life's conflicts, struggles and triumphs. It is a rare gem among today's pre- and early-teen books.

Out of all of the books that I have read to my children over the years, just a few stand out as exceptional, and this one ranks among the top.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiration without the Insult -- How Rare!, December 22, 2006
This review is from: Heir of the Forgotten Realm (Paperback)
When it comes to the fantasy novel, I'm one of those reluctant readers who loses interest fast. But with Heir of the Forgotten Realm, I read the whole book--and I want my kids to read it. I value an author like Michael J. Svigel who can craft a great story, with great morals, and yet not compromise his faith. Finally, we can be inspired and entertained without being insulted. How rare!
