Well, this is more of a photography book than a gardening book. The photos are fantastic but the content is lacking much info about heirloom varieties. Each fruit/veggie gets 1 page of text, a few get 2 and there are 1 to 2 photos of each cultivar. Neat as a coffee table book to look at the photos, but that is about it.

I am a serious vegetable gardener--- over 40 years-- and this book is just another way to explore something I love. Photography is art, no question. Background on presented vegetables is like reading a National Geographic issue. It has made a beautiful gift for me to give. Deserves more than 5 stars.
