Definitive Heirloom Sewing,
By Eunice Hayes (bdhayes@infinet.com) (Newark, Ohio) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Heirloom Sewing for Women (Hardcover)
This book is very helpful to both the beginner and experienced seamstress. There are many pictures and diagrams. A section on frequently asked questions is included. Most items in the index are cross referenced for finding related techniques. If you enjoy sewing, you'll like this book. If you're afraid of sewing, this book will give you confidence.

Martha Pullen's magic launched my sewing career.,

This review is from: Heirloom Sewing for Women (Hardcover)
I first discovered Martha Pullen on her PBS televisions show, Martha's Sewing Room. This was the first book that I bought with her easy techniques so beautifully explained and illustrated in it. It took my sewing capabilities which had been fairly good up to expert in a very short time. What I have learned from this book and her others has given me the confidence to start designing sewing projects myself. This book and her others have given me the courage to branch out and have my work published in magazines. I've had 2 covers and 6 articles published in national magazines so far. One of the covers was for her magazine, Sew Beautiful. Anyone who wants to strive for excellance would gain greatly by reading this book. If to become a professional seamstress and designer or just to be the best they can be for themselves and their families.
