Here's a great example of a more-recent Buddy Miles recording. I bought this because I read that Bill Laswell Produced it and I am glad I did. Miles pounds out great straight-ahead R&B rhythms and true to Laswell's recordings you can hear everything clearly. Buddy's singing is great, too. He has great range and represents himself well. Other personnel include Jeff Levine on Organ, Piano, and Clavinet, and his B-3 playing really makes this recording heat up. Then there's Kevon Smith and Nicky Skopelitis on guitars. The solo on All Along the Watchtower sizzles(I don't know who plays it, though). Joe Thomas on Bass. Then the Uptown Horns play on Hell and Back with great effect.
It is refreshing to hear a legendary drummer still Rocking and crooning a great-sounding CD. This would not be for everyone. If you are only interested in tried and true radio-worn fare, get something else. But if you're a drummer or musician or an appreciator of great Soulful and bluesy Rock, this could be a nice addition to your collection.

Buddy Miles has long been one of the most undrrated drummers & vocalists of all time. I have seen im in concert many times going back to the Electric Flag & with the Band Of Gypsys & he was always the backing force of the band & the man can sing.I knew how taleneted Buddy was before I purchased this album & was not disappointed at all.
