From the Author
Hell Bent for Santa Fe was written in 1981, then shelved for 20 years. The Texan-Santa Fe Expedition was such an obscure piece of history there wasn't a lot of interest in the event. After the Dead Man Journey book by a Texas regional author and the television movie of the event I decided to do a complete rewrite and give the book another chance. I'm as fascinated by it today as I was when I was poring through the Texas State Archives and other historical documents to write the original work.
