5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best albums ever?
Since Mobb Deep dropped The Infamous, which many people regard as one of the top rap albums ever, people thought that they couldn't match it. But the Mobb did the inevetable and dropped Hell On Earth, which is even more dark and grimey than their classic lp. 2.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing
If you're thinking about getting a Mobb Deep album, I would highly recommend that you pick up 'The Infamous' instead of this one. There are a few nice cuts like 'God Pt3' and 'Drop a Gem on them', but other than that, it seems a little rushed. 'The Infamous' on the other hand, is one of my alltime favorite hiphop albums.

Since Mobb Deep dropped The Infamous, which many people regard as one of the top rap albums ever, people thought that they couldn't match it. But the Mobb did the inevetable and dropped Hell On Earth, which is even more dark and grimey than their classic lp. Hell On Earth is not The Infamous, but it comes pretty close and is still a hardcore hip-hop classic. Cuts like 'G.O.D Pt.III', 'Hell On Earth (Front Lines)', 'Drop A Gem On Em' and 'Get Dealt With' are some of the best rap songs you'll ever hear. You should also hear 'Apostle's Warning', where Prodigy goes wild, and 'Extortion' where they rip it up with Method Man. This is one of the best albums ever, and definately one of the best Mobb Deep has ever done. If you are a fan of real hip-hop, you should own this without a doubt.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must-need album for any serious heads, June 18, 1998
This review is from: Hell on Earth (Audio CD)
When I first listened to this album I didn't really like it except for the singles, namely GOD Pt. III and Front Lines. Those songs are just great, with incredible beats, choruses, and lyrics. Then I listened to the album again and it grew on me. This album is just a great followup to their previous album, The Infamous. Hardcore gangsta rap fans have to own this album. Guest stars include Raekwon, Method Man, Nas, Big Noyd. To tell you the truth the guest stars don't really do their best performances but Mobb Deep makes up for it. Other great tracks include Drop A Gem on 'Em and Apostle's Warning. If you like this album also check out Big Noyd's EP, which is virtually a Mobb Deep album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hell On Earth: Mobb Deep's second classic, February 16, 2007
This review is from: Hell on Earth (Audio CD)
Mobb Deep doesnt make albums like this any more. Havoc and Prodigy busting grimy raps over production that ranges from nightmarish(think Extortion), to suspensful(think More Trife Life and G.O.D. Part III) to laid back(think Animal Instinct and Hell On Earth). Many people talk about The Infamous like that was the only classic that Mobb Deep had. While The Infamous was a classic in its own right dont get it twisted. Prodigy and Havoc bust the most grittiest and most complex rhymes of their rap career on this album! Standout Tracks: ANIMAL INSTINCT, DROP A GEM ON EM(best subliminal diss ever), BLOODSPORT, EXTORTION(classic collabo with M E T H O D Man), MAN DOWN, NIGHTTIME VULTURES, G.O.D. PART III, HELL ON EARTH(killer title track), GIVE IT UP FAST and STILL SHININ. Filler: None. Bottom Line: Hell On Earth is Mobb Deep's best album next to The Infamous. Amazing rhymeshemes, slammin production(by Havoc who perfected his craft with this album) and the guest appearances shine right along with Mobb Deep. Check it out if you want to see Mobb Deep at their best.

5.0 out of 5 stars More Darker Than The Infamous, July 28, 2005
This review is from: Hell on Earth (Audio CD)
As they did with the Infamous, they brought us another girty and dark album with more polished production work from Havoc. Many Mobb Deep fans prefer Hell On Earth over The Infamous, but I think it was The Infamous that did it for me, as it had a little more depth and more passion. Not saying this album didn't have the same work put in, but saying that, this album had a lot of strong points also with an response from 2Pac's Hit Em Up where Mobb dare to diss the rap icon. Mob get extra billing for that, because not many would response (including the almight king of NY Biggie)
