1.0 out of 5 stars Lost me
After reading the blurb, I must admit that I was extremely interested in the storyline. However, after reading a couple chapters, I was utterly lost. Though a work of fiction, this plot went BEYOND fiction into the realm of completely unbelievable! There were too many branching story lines, plots that could have stood all on their own. Constant POV flashblacks, CIA...

Keith never fails to draw me in. I can't put his books down. His easy style turns his words into reality. I feel I am living his books and not just reading. This one was no exception!

If you've never read his books, you should start now. What a joy.

In HELL HAS NO FURY, author Keith Lee Johnson reunites us with one of our favorite characters, Special Agent Phoenix Perry. When we join Special Agent Perry she has had a few years off, doing desk duty with the FBI, has a new addition to the family and seems comfortable. For those of us who have grown to love Special Agent Phoenix Perry, we know she is not satisfied working behind the desk. She enjoys action, adventure and the satisfaction that she has chased and captured the enemies. After a close family member is found beaten and near death, she goes back into what she loves to do as Special Agent Phoenix Perry. To complicate issues, are also two dead bodies at the crime scene and her family member is the prime suspect in those murders. She is on a hunt to find out the person or persons responsible for her family member's attack and to also prove her innocence. Her hunt is a nationwide chase that involves a host of shady and crooked so-called literary professionals. We also get to revisit some familiar characters from previous books in this series.

Keith Lee Johnson takes us on a thrilling ride in his writing. You think you have figured things out, but surprise, surprise that is not the answer and then you have additional questions that need to be answered. This book was a thriller from the first page to the last and will not leave you dissatisfied. There are some issues in this book that make you wonder: Can this really happen in real life?

I hope we have not seen the last of Special Agent Phoenix Perry because I believe she has more stories to come in the future. I would highly recommend this book to all and I believe you will thoroughly enjoy this book and, also, Mr. Johnson's writing.

I simply Love Keith Lee Johnson and have read everything he's written. this book Hell Has No Fury started very slow, I hung in there knowing that K.Lee would turn it around. And he did. The book was very good. Not quite as good as his earlier books. I am looking forward to his future works.
He's a great author.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Picture Within a Picture Behind a Picture, March 5, 2008
This review is from: Hell Has No Fury (Paperback)
A few years have passed and a few things have changed for Special Agent Phoenix Perry. She is now the mother of two and working a nine to five desk job for the FBI. A phone call changes all of that. Phoenix's cousin, Michelle, has been shot in a robbery and is in a coma fighting for her life. Adding insult to injury, the police don't believe that Michelle was an innocent bystander, but rather a part of the robbery. In an effort to clear her cousin's name, Phoenix and her partner, Kelly McPherson, take to the streets. As the story progresses, a trail of bodies lead the two agents across the country. And as always, people and things may not be what they seem.

It felt like coming home again with Keith Lee Johnson's eighth novel. Of all his characters, Phoenix Perry is my favorite and I've been waiting for her return. "Hell Has No Fury" creates a foundation for an intense thriller. Johnson has a knack for detail, be it a conversation between two friends or a gruesome murder. It was also nice to see more of the strong, positive relationship between Phoenix and her husband, Keyth. Johnson's fans will recognize (or the mention of) characters from earlier novels. With the mention of two characters in particular, I hope that means there is more to come. Hint, hint, hint...Keith. "Hell Has No Fury" just further solidifies why Keith Lee Johnson is one of my favorite authors.

Keith Lee Johnson's fans are in for a treat with his latest "Hell Has No Fury" Agent Phoenix Perry is back! Phoenix is on the hunt for con-artists who poses as editors and literary agents...but somebody is one step ahead of this savvy agent...and the body count is building! The big question is; who tried to kill Phoenix cousin and how is she involved in the case?

An exciting novel! Don't keep us waiting for the next Phoenix Perry installment Keith!

5.0 out of 5 stars I can't wait until the next installment, January 29, 2008
This review is from: Hell Has No Fury (Paperback)
I was so happy to see Phoenix back again. Hell Has No Fury had a little of everything. It was sad, happy, funny, romantic, and of course a mystery. This book showed us the whole picture of Phoenix. It showed that she was not all about her job. She was also a wife and mother who loved her family. Mr. Johnson writes these characters as though they are real and I couldn't help but get caught in the excitement. This book is a great read. I couldn't put it down. I can't wait until the next installment (hint, hint).

5.0 out of 5 stars Welcome Back, Phoenix!, January 27, 2008
This review is from: Hell Has No Fury (Paperback)
I love the Phoenix series and this is KLJ's best ever. A typical KLJ book with twists, turns, surprises on every page, visits from characters past and more.

We find Phoenix behind a desk and with a new baby, but she doesn't stay behind that desk for long. When a relative becomes a suspect in a murder..or two, Phoenix takes off in pursuit of the real killers. These murders involve folks who prey on potential authors offering guaranteed publishing in return for money. Of course, the published books never happen.

But this isn't just a book about con artists - not when KLJ is the author. You are taken on a roller coaster ride that even includes politics which leaves you wondering, "Could this be for real?"

HHNF is a seriously well written, well thought out, first rate mystery. The past Phoenix books have been fun to read - but this shows KLJ's depth as a writer.

Hell Has No Fury is a home run and a 110 yard punt return all in one.

Keith Lee Johnson is a superb writer the detail the places, and the character profile in this book are marvelous. The characters experience such turns and twists that surprised me at every turn of the page. This is one novel that you can not figure out early on who did it.

This is the way a good suspense story has to be told in order to make it a great novel. A bit graphic on the murders but that was to be expected when you dealing with a higher level of law enforcement. His visuals are definitely coming from the eyes of the coroners and law enforcement something we as everyday people would not experience. Bravo!, keep those mystery and suspense stories coming.

I always read reviews before I purchase a book and was quite disapointed when a reviewer gave the mystery totally away. I am a fan of klj and really enjoyed this book, I just ask all reviewers to be mindful of not giving out too much info
