Great intro, and some rarities, December 19, 2005
This review is from: Hell (Audio CD)
This CD is part of a two volume best of the Residents, released in 1985. Many consider the height of their career to have been in the late 70's and early 80's, so this is a great compilation to get a sampling from that era. I think it is a fair, but not excellent choice of songs to represent the band. But, the purpose of this review is that I have compiled where these tracks are from (since its not in the liner notes), and am including them here if anyone is interested:
1. Mark of the Mole, 1981
2. Intermission, 1983
3. The Census Taker, 1984
4. The Commercial Album, 1980
5. Duck Stab, 1977
6. Residue, 1983
7. Intermission, 1983
8. Residue, 1983
9. Tunes of Two Cities, 1982
10. The Big Bubble, 1985
11. Meet the Residents, 1973
12. Title in Limbo, w/ Renaldo & the Loaf, 1983 (this album no longer available)
13. Goosebump, 1980 (can be found on Diskomo EP CD)
14. Duck Stab, 1977
15. Duck Stab, 1977
16. Commercial Album, 1980
17. Commercial Album, 1980
18. Residue, 1983
19. Single, 1976 (this single no longer available, but the song can be found on the 25th anniversary compilation)
20. Mark of the Mole, 1981

It is The Residents, May 5, 2005
This review is from: Hell (Audio CD)
Hell! is not the ideal album for a new fan of The Residents, but then again if you don't like it you probably won't like any of their work.
If you do like The Residents, Hell! is right for you.
