5.0 out of 5 stars Hell Rules 2
This tribute is awesome. These underground death/black metal bands really bring new definition to these classic Sabbath songs. There is not one song on there that is not good. My favorite track is definately Vital Remains' "War Pigs" It is just about note-perfect, except that it is down-tuned, also it sounds incredible with those deep as hell vocals, great job guys. other...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good. Not for me.
I am a huge sabbath fan and a huge metal fan but this is a bit too heavy for me. I love the musicon here but the vocals are too much. I don't mind hearing brutal screaming on a track or two, but after ten minutes it's like "Do Something Else". I guess this good if you're a death metal fan and can't stand nu metal. If you're a nu metal fan and can't stand death metal pick...

If you're a nu metal fan and can't stand death metal pick up Nativity in Black or it's sequel. Being a fan of nu metal and death metal I can say that both are good. My only problem is with the vocals. Sepultura's version of "Symptom of the Universe" is actually just as heavy as Evil Incarnate's.Sabbath For Life!

Buy this if you can mind death metal vocals becus thats why so many people dislike both Hell Ruls tributes, its not a bad album at all, they just have a problem with the vocals.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Sabbath Tribute CD, October 5, 2001

This Sabbath Tribute CD is great. It's much better than Nativity in Black 2 and Masters of Misery. The music sounds great. But anyone who listens for the first time may not like some of the vocals. They have a black and death metal sound to them. So if your a black metal or a death metal fan you'll like this CD. The best songs on the CD are: Snowblind,Hand of Doom,Johny Blade, and Symptom of the Universe. I recommend it to any die hard Sabbath fan.

1.0 out of 5 stars Tribute Or Violation?, April 10, 2001
This review is from: Hell Rules: Tribute to Black Sabbath 2 (Audio CD)
I am getting tired of tributes. Nativity In Black I was o.k., but now I think every metal band on the planet tries to make some tribute to their own wallet. If they want to make a tribute to Black Sabbath then they should have a cover version on their own CD. But this is just making money with the name Black Sabbath.

Have only heard short samples of about half the songs.I liked the music over all but some of the lyrics are pretty growly.
