4.0 out of 5 stars LOVE Jeffrey Steele, but prefer his previous albums, January 22, 2009
By
This review is from: Hell on Wheels (Audio CD)
First lemme say I'm 19 and I'm a huge fan of Jeffrey Steele, I have almost every one of his albums. There are some really good songs this one such as the title track "Helldorado", " Your Tears Are Comin", "Sweet Salvation of Southern Rock n Roll", "Hollywood Girl". I also enjoyed "Tryin to Find it", and "Sad Situation".

However, I'd recommend any of his previous albums before this one, such as Outlaw or Gold, Platinum, No Chrome, Steele.

There just seems to be too many filler songs on this particular CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars A true inspiration to aspiring singer/songwriters., February 6, 2010
This review is from: Hell On Wheels (MP3 Download)
As an aspiring singer/songwriter, I look at the complete body of work to judge the artist. Writers go through stages in their writing, and these stages are a direct reflection of events in their lives, or events that they have witnessed. I dare say that you will see some sadness in Jeffrey's work since the tragic loss of his son. I don't see how he even continues to write, except that it is great therapy. I know this for a fact. In times of sorrow, or adversity, a writer will turn to the craft to help express his or her feelings at the time. I have woken up at 2 or 3 in the morning with a song title or a hook in my head and I immediately get up and write.

Now if you really want to experience Jeffery Steele, find out where he's playing, preferably a small venue, and go watch, listen, and learn. I swear the man is a machine. I went to a small bar in Nashville where he was going to play. I got there at 6 and he took the stage at 10. at 2:00 in the morning Jeffrey and his band were still cranking it out, and I mean non-stop. There are very few tallents in Nashville that can compare to Jeffrey Steele. While I prefer the Outlaw cd over Hell on Wheels, I know that the diversity of his writing is what makes him a truly great artist. Buy all you can of this gifted tallent, and enjoy.
