5.0 out of 5 stars Best book of its kind I have ever read...make your own decision after reading it
Ok, I admit I initially picked it up because the title made me laugh. To read some other reviews about how narrow minded this book is, well...that is plain ridiculous. I have read this carefully and was actually amazed at how much I learned. Although I am a Christian, the reason I gave it 5 stars is that it presented both sides of a debate clearly. Obviously the author is...

3.0 out of 5 stars Outrageous Truth?
One of the first things I do whenever I pick up a book is to look at the front and back covers and read what's on them. Afterwards, I open the book and read the inside of the dust jacket, it the book has one. Later on, I read the Table of Contents and other pertinent information to have a general idea of the subject and the author. When I first read this book, one of...

5.0 out of 5 stars Best book of its kind I have ever read...make your own decision after reading it, June 2, 2006
This review is from: Hell? Yes!: ...and Other Outrageous Truths You Can Still Believe (Hardcover)
Obviously the author is slanted toward God's viewpoint. However, he meticulously presents the who/why/what's of each claim on BOTH sides. I was very impressed. Please read this book yourself before letting any reviews scare you off. I will use this as a springboard for logical conversation armed now with information I didn't have before. My hat is off to Jeffress for having the courage to say what he knows will be hotly protested as politically incorrect.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Politically Incorrect or Not These Statements Ring True", July 21, 2004
This review is from: Hell? Yes!: ...and Other Outrageous Truths You Can Still Believe (Hardcover)
I received my copy of Hell? Yes! and dived right in. The information Dr. Jeffress supplies is well researched and presented in an easy to understand manner. The book handles seven statements the author correctly notes as some of the biggest hot potato issues today. Dr. Jeffress deftly handles the exclusivity of Christianity as well as the controversial subject of homosexuality. His treatment of the age old problem concerning a loving God and the suffering of man is excellent. I found every topic/chapter not only well thought out but handled in a manner that presented the facts on these issues, not just opinion or conjecture. Some of the things in the book I have always believed, but didn?t exactly know why. Others I have wondered about and have found answers for some of those questions. I would recommend this book to those on either side of these issues. It could promote greater understanding on both sides.

5.0 out of 5 stars Right on!!, November 23, 2008
In this day where moral relativism reigns, here is the truth. God's Word never changes. God has a standard which is the Bible. As Oprah says, "Jesus is too cool to have only one way to him." What a lie. There is only one way and we all have access to Him if we do what He says. John 14:6.
This is a wonderful book that tells the truth in down to earth fashion. A must read for all Christians

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Apologetics, January 4, 2007
This review is from: Hell? Yes!: ...and Other Outrageous Truths You Can Still Believe (Hardcover)
This book is a wonderful defense of the faith in light of the trend to be politically correct. Dr. Jeffress is always worth a read. I highly recommend it to believers and those who are searching for that missing piece in their heart.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible Book, May 20, 2006
This review is from: Hell? Yes!: ...and Other Outrageous Truths You Can Still Believe (Hardcover)
This book is a must read for any Christian. Jeffress lays out some of the most controversial questions. These questions generally turn into an attack against Christianity by skeptics, but Jeffress lays it out so that we, as Christians, can respond in a diplomatic yet firm way. As he says, "We need to become Velvet-covered bricks."

An excellent book, for those Christians who want to answer difficult questions about Christianity, and very uncomfortable for those who cannot accept the truth about Christianity.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book!, August 18, 2004
By
This review is from: Hell? Yes!: ...and Other Outrageous Truths You Can Still Believe (Hardcover)
Best Christian book I've read this year, aside from the Bible. We are thinking of using it in a Bible Study we lead.

The author has a wonderfully clear, engaging style. The book is a quick read, yet profoud.

It excells as a defense of conservative evangilical doctrines that now alas are controversial. It is a great defense of the "faith once delivered to the saints."

Go to the following link to see an interview with Dr. Robert Jeffress, given by Dr. David Reagan of Lamb and Lion Ministries (lamblion.com). This interview specifically deals with this book. Dr. Reagan is one of my very favorite truely God-seeking, Biblically sound Christian evangelist. Some of my family know him personally, and I've met him as well. So check out this video of Dave interviewing Dr. Jeffress, and check out Lamb and Lion's excellent web site (lamblion.com). Dave is truely being used by God to lead many to know the truth of Jesus' soon return, as well as God using him to lead Christians to live a life of Holiness. Maranatha!
